Following the recent launch of Stephenson Harwood's global maritime, trade and offshore (MTO) practice, the firm's Middle East team hosted its annual summer 'Shipping Sizzler' event in Dubai. The event celebrated the newly launched global practice and the recent expansion of the Middle East MTO team, to create one of the largest teams in the region. The evening brought together more than 70 professionals from the maritime community, including lenders, P&I clubs, traders, ship management companies, agencies, and surveyors, creating an opportunity for both new and existing clients and contacts to meet with the Middle East's MTO expanded team and network with colleagues in the sector. #Maritime #Trade #Offshore

DP World Australia (DPWA) has announced its intention to raise landside fees at its terminals in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, and Fremantle starting on 1 January 2024. The increase in landside fees will not only affect the Terminal Access Charge (TAC) but also the Vehicle Booking System (VBS) fees and various other charges. The TAC for export containers at the East Coast terminals will see an increase of up to 52.52%, while import containers will face a maximum increase of 26.18%. The VBS Slot Fees and full Stack Run Fees will be raised by 49.74% in Fremantle, followed by a 35.65% increase in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. This landside fee increase comes as DPWA plans to invest more than $600 million in equipment, civil expansion works, and IT infrastructure between 2023 and 2026.
