🌟 Before I could set myself some professional and personal goals for 2024, I wanted to take the time to reflect on the things I achieved last year! 🚀 Professional Milestones/ Development: ✔ Starting my new role at Menzies LLP! I made sure to take the time to get a thorough understanding of what sets the firm apart and all the different services we have to offer. ✔ Successfully prepared and hosted frequent tailored group presentations and worked on my public speaking. ✔ Oversaw the successful completion of a variety of campaigns to assist revenue growth. ✔ Contributed to many colleagues' personal BD plans/goals and helped put achievable steps in place that will ensure positive results. Here's to another year of bettering myself, hitting goals and overcoming any challenges!

chapter 2. Giovanni Agnelli. initial thoughts Chapter 1 vs Chapter 2 Sir Harvey Jones raises from the ranks. No idea where his corporate career will start or end. Agnelli is from the family, always knew where he will end in corporate career. Careers could not be any more different.

I asked him to share some insights from his experience that can accelerate anyone's career.   Rohit said, “First and foremost, I've always wanted to do more, have a greater impact, and achieve more. That competitive mindset is essential. I have always tried my best that I do very good work. I cannot remember a job I didn't love, although, like everyone, there are elements I don't enjoy. However, focusing on the aspects that bring joy, satisfaction, and pride has made a significant difference.   Secondly, I have always been very interested in learning, constantly seeking ways to improve. Over time, I developed a genuine interest in connecting with people and building networks. Learning from others and sharing stories creates meaningful connections. My personal learning has been that you have to enjoy and celebrate small accomplishments. Big things take a long time and may or may not happen. If you're only focused on the big things, you risk being disappointed more often.   You want people to be attracted to working with you. They should feel that working with you provides them with excellent work, great direction, personal development, and opportunities for growth. Your clients, whether internal or external, should feel that working with you provides valuable insights and desired outcomes. I call this creating a 'demand pull.' Consider what creates demand for you—your interactions, work quality, or team strength. Decoding this is crucial, as you are at the centre of your ecosystem, observing everything around you—people, peers, seniors, and clients.   In terms of personal life challenges, when you take on a role like CEO or leader of a large business, you're not the only one signing up—your family is too. It's important to ensure that your family is as invested in your role as you are. You make trade-offs. Sometimes you might miss a meeting because it won't be remembered, but missing your son's award ceremony will be remembered.   When I'm driving my son to school, I often tell him that he has to be good to people. That is the most important thing: he has to have empathy and be good to people. You can rarely be successful on your own. Nothing is permanent. Don't stress yourself too much because no matter how bad the situation is... it will change. Today, on July 30th, my company celebrated Dollar Day with awards for the last quarter (April, May, June). The feelings were quite mixed for me. While my colleagues and team members won good incentives and many awards, I sat there celebrating their wins. It was okay, but I felt disappointed with my own performance. Last month, I tried my best to close as many deals as possible but didn’t manage to secure even one. This month, I worked rigorously on building my client base, developing great skills for building relationships, and had numerous meetings and visits for selected projects. Now, sitting here on the second last day of the month with 5-6 clients close to closing, I know some deals will take time as clients are busy with their own commitments. I don’t want to get demotivated, but it still hurts the most. #resilience #selfsustaining #motivatingquote

Biggest mistake CAs make is - working alone. We have often seen CAs working as a sole proprietor or in small partnerships. When we held this closed knit meeting, one of the challenges that CAs shared is lack of resources or good talent. Then why are we walking alone? Cant we find synergies in our fraternity? Cant we look for partnerships? Cant we find associates to pass work? Cant we look to diversify? We are bound by some mindsets and it is time we break that.
