In 2021, when I started writing on Facebook. It was hard to out myself out there as I am a very private person. I started out advocating against bullying. Then share stories about my day and my thoughts on certain matters. The more I did that, I saw a new world open up, good and bad. I got bad words thrown at me for speaking up. I moved past it. Now I am here, delivering the best of Biographies/Memoirs every 5am (WAT) and publishing books on Amazon KDP while building the coolest personal brand the writing industry has seen. I am starting afresh here and I am here to win. Discomfort, uncertainty and all.

I've learned something important on my journey: Life is full of challenges, but how we face them shapes our future. Here's what I've discovered: 1. Control what you can. It's like being the captain of your own ship in a big ocean. 2. Make smart choices. Every decision is like planting a seed for your future. 3. When you grow, there's always a price. It's like getting stronger at the gym - it takes effort and sometimes it hurts a bit. I've seen this play out so many times in my own life. When things get tough, I remember that these challenges are actually helping me become stronger and smarter.

The discomfort in the context of growth can be compared to going to the gym and working out 💪 Your muscles break down only to become stronger. From physics we know that resistance is required to create light ✨️ Same concept 😇

✅ There are some Swahili posters I see inside some buses here in MOMBASA that when translated means: ✅ When you have no money/fare and gets stuck in a big city, that’s when you actually get to know that city! I think those posters are spot on! 👉You have to be rattled! 👉Uncomfortable. 👉Out of your comfort zone! Those situations gets you thinking intelligently like nothing else can!

I'd agree with this. Never give up. At 71, along with 3 other women over 60 we're taking our show In the Lady Garden to the Edinburgh Fringe. It's been hard work but the excitement and fear are exhilarating. Waving the flag for Plymouth and women everywhere.

Growth happens beyond your comfort zone. The question is what gives you comfort? For some, it's being able to pay the bills on time. For some, it's the approval from their parents, partner or peers. For some, it's being understood by your loved ones. For some, it's being seen as worthy by society. For you, ........? And when you're growing that's the exact thing you will keep losing until you don't need it anymore.
