Just because growth isn't always visible, it doesn't mean it's not happening. Comparing your journey to others is holding your potential hostage. Stay patient.

It's You Vs You. People do not see the hundreds of hours that go in 'after hours'. The graft that runs way into the night and weekends. It is very often easy for others to judge you on where you are from what they see, but its not what they see that counts. It is what goes on when the lights go off!! Don't measure your progress on the opinion of others but rather, aim to just be better than you were yesterday.

I remember when I was a kid living in public housing project in central NY the winters usually created an ice rink in the parking lot. I used to go out with a metal, sharp shovel and chop up the ice to create paths for the melting ice (water) to leave the lot so it would melt easier on warmer days. I used to always think that there were people watching me and thinking “what a smart, strong, and persistent kid.” Thinking back on that it was a way of self-motivation. There probably weren’t people watch - but at the time it kept out there for hours getting the job done. Who’s watching you 🤔

Trees reach deep into the soil first, then up toward the light as they grow. Humans can do this too. By turning deeply into ourselves. Use the darkness you’ve been through. Use the lessons it has given to you. This keeps you moving toward the light. The deeper you go, and the more you sit with these lessons, the more you learn about yourself and others. Then you are better equipped to keep moving toward the light. Each and every step forward is to be acknowledged and celebrated.

This is so true - but for me, sometimes so hard. In our technology enabled world with immediate access to information, it is hard to not compare ourselves (and where we are on our journey) to others. The skill is in keeping connected to self, and being aligned (spiritually, emotionally, intellectually & physically) to ourselves. Looking inwards and not outwards is helping me find patience and a sense that I can 'trust' that my hard work will pay off.

I often think people overcomplicate 'progress' but progress to someone could be waking up at 5:00 am instead of 6:00 am just to get a earlier train before heading off to work, so they could work out of a coffee shop before they start their 9-5 to put the work in to get out of the job they hate but want self-employed over another employed job. The little steps count just as much as the big steps.

No, it doesn't mean you're not achieving anything. Invisible growth often means that progress is happening internally or behind the scenes, even if it's not immediately visible to others or measurable by external metrics. It's like a tree growing roots deeper into the earth. You might not see the growth above ground, but the tree is still developing a strong foundation. Similarly, people can be growing and developing in profound ways that aren't always visible on the surface. Invisible growth can be just as valuable and important as visible achievements. It's essential to recognize and celebrate the small, incremental steps towards progress, even if they're not always tangible or publicly visible. Remember, growth is a journey, not a destination❗️ Growth is gradual process, start will small steps, be patient and be kind to yourself Keep Shining ✨💫
