"If democracy begins to crumble in America, then liberal democracies all over the world will be in trouble."
With respect, a resounding no.
This is Americans believing that, without them, the world will simply end.
On the contrary, it would most probably take a giant leap forward.
The *essential* threat to Australian democracy has been *overt* political interference, via the medium of think tanks connected with the US Military Industrial Complex, which were directly and overtly funded by the US State Department. This is *all* on our national foreign influence register.
These folks have systematically interfered with the structure and operation of the domestic public service, and grossly distorted our defence policy, trade policy, and foreign policy. This greatly weakened our democracy, and has led to policies that are fundamentally against the Australian National Interest.
This is a *widely known* fact in Australian civil society and a great many Australians are seriously pissed off with this situation. We none of us get heard because our idiot press has chosen not to listen.
If our own federal government does not shortly change their tune they will be voted out, as will the next one, if they don't get the message either.
This is not a warning. It is a goddamn certainty.
The Western Policy Elite is a sham front for the US #MIC.
The purpose of this is to amp weapons sales with #PermaProxyWar.
We ALL know that. Furthermore, Australia may have insipid government, but it does not have idiotic government. There are many, too many to count, who will not agree with me publicly, but will nod quietly in assent.
Australians are pragmatists.
We don't believe in Aliens.
We are not doped out on ketamine.
We are not gun nuts.
We are not about to send the B-52s in to Bomb Brunei because it is an absolute monarchy, and therefore the exemplar of #autocracy.
Nor will we support the U.S.M.C. invading Monaco for some casino R&R.
Finally, we have no southern border problem.
Victoria is kept for Victorians, and they stay there. They seem to like it :-)
