I keep winning awards! I am constantly getting messages and emails about awards I am nominated for or have won. Most award shows have become a very false and paid for business. It's a pay to play business usually make no mistake. We all push this narrative of "award-winning".. If it's genuine, kudos. But typically it's just a money spinner. Buy x tables and x numbers of seats. And you'll magically win the award 😅 Most awards shows from my experience are usually created by businesses within that industry. What if we are doing it wrong? Yesterday we saw a glimpse of the possible. Abhiram (Abhi) Chilukuri was in the final round roll play with Becc Holland and he dropped in a random, yet highly relevant insight. Many who were watching, including Becc, noted the moment. It didn’t seem to fit. A relevant piece of vital strategic insight gleaned from xiQ, Inc. Two key points to ponder. First, neither Becc Holland, nor her client knew this critical fact about the clients competitor. Second, the buyer had no idea that xiQ, Inc. had provided the relevant insight. Abhiram (Abhi) Chilukuri was using Becc Holland’s diagnostic selling framework, specifically showing her a “missed diagnosis” on a two dimensional level. He had just learned the diagnostic selling model on Tuesday. What happened? Becc Holland wanted to buy. Wanted to refer him to her client immediately. He literally changed the game!! It was the biggest home run I’ve seen. It was so unfamiliar, but so impactful. How do you discover the next era of selling? You use design thinking. You try new things and adjust.
