FEDERAL BUDGET 2024: RACP Pre-Budget submission This year’s Federal Budget must support better health care for older people in the community – it is long overdue that we need to make multidisciplinary outreach geriatric teams accessible to everyone. The health of older people benefits when specialists work together – the healthcare system needs to be oriented to supporting older people with their healthcare needs. The Royal Commission recommended that from 1 January 2022, the Australian, State and Territory Governments should introduce Local Hospital Network‐led multidisciplinary outreach services. We need to see this implemented across the nation! Multidisciplinary specialist care makes a difference for older people and their carers.
