Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis’ Post

This week, the St. Louis Fed celebrated the dedicated public service career of our outgoing First Vice President Kathy O'Neill. This culminated in a (surprise!) final send-off, as colleagues packed our hallways to say goodbye. Kathy is retiring after a distinguished 36-year career with the Fed. In various roles, she provided strong leadership during change in the banking system and the payments industry, and she helped guide the Bank through the pandemic. She also was instrumental in strengthening the Fed System’s overall fiscal agency relationship with the U.S. Treasury. She served as our interim president and CEO from July 2023 to April 2024. “Working at the St. Louis Fed has truly been an honor and a privilege. I am proud of what we do to foster an economy that works for all,” she said. “I am grateful to have had the opportunity to partner with many dedicated, diverse and distinguished individuals over the course of my career, and I hope to leave behind a legacy of excellence, empowerment, integrity and inclusion throughout the organization.” Wishing you well on your next adventure, Kathy!
