Transforming the justice system starts in the home, on the block, at school, and in the neighborhood. Restorative practices shifts the responsibility for peace and safety away from policing and courts and back to community residents. Restorative Justice replaces destructive, traumatic, and punitive practices with constructive accountability to restore and build relationships, thus creating stronger communities.
