This is brilliant. And edu-taining. I love how he steps into scenes, and then moves back to narrator, which is exactly what Mind Movie Making is about. His emotional connection is spot on.

Can you live beyond your own beliefs? TUESDAY: A Shakespearean Tragedy. A narcissist father deceiving the love of his family, as he seeks world domination. His acts bring forth death of the innocent. THURSDAY: Moliere, life’s a blaze with the comedy of opposites. The ultimate pedant facing sheering chaos. SATURDAY: Beckett’s unmitigated tragicomedy, theatre of the absurd. Not much makes sense here, yet we teeter on the edge of our seats, waiting a conclusion which fails to come. A WEEK ON WEDNESDAY: A set of improvisation workshops, seeking innovation and creativity in the present moment. “No. You missed the cue.” “Yes, and what are you gonna do about it?” The work and life of an actor. How does all of this come alive? How does it stay alive? How do actors create suffering, passion, love, and the surreal, over and over again? How do they create life? To become an actor, one must understand the vehicle of acting. The vehicle of acting is human potential manifested through the bodymind. An actor must embrace the vehicle, understand the vehicle, and see where in its use they are limited. They must move beyond their own beliefs, into a realm where every experience, perspective, belief and reality is possible. An actor cannot be successful if they only engage in performance material they themselves believe in. An actor cannot be successful if they are limited to the types of expressions which come naturally to their construction of self. These expressions fix their creative potential to replicating only who they think they are. https://lnkd.in/dhuFpCik

I'm a film & tv writer, script doctor, and editor always excited to make room for new projects! I’m graduating in January of 2025 under The Momentum Academic Scholarship with a BS in Writing for Film & Television.
I’m working on my first psychological thriller and it’s becoming my new favorite genre of features to write! There’s SO MUCH that goes into creating these complex characters. I have a folder full of pages encompassing the history for every character I invent. I can’t know what they’re capable of unless I give them a life before the feature. This is how you create relatable characters. You can NOT create & utilize a flat character as the main character in a psyc thriller - or ANY feature film or television program for that matter. For all the writers out there, give your protagonist layers. They need layers like real people. That’s how you create unforgettable films 🎥

I think a lot about the foundations of ensemble performance, which for me centers on the beautiful work that happens during rehearsal. If you love the process, if you love the struggle, I have several new essays written this spring that you might be interested in: https://lnkd.in/eawvW7si

Facilitating leaders to create their impact in connection & in alignment with innate joy & purpose. Because what‘s the alternative ?
You and I we all are a person. This bit we all agree on (even on social media). And as the etymology of the word suggests : “Persona as related to Latin personare per~ through, sonare ~ sound means „to sound through" (ie as something spoken through a mask and perhaps amplifying the voice, as part in a drama, assumed character.”) So as a person, that makes us the “through” part. The mask. The assumed character in a drama. So many questions arise instantly then : Which drama ? Which role, which character ? Sound “what” through ? Where does the sound come from ? And if I am playing a character, what am I outside the drama, before the play begins, in the breaks, when the play ends ? Hmm 🤔

DIALOG – WITH THE ACTOR PLAYING YOUR MAIN CHARACTER. Time for a little fun. Who do you think would be perfect to play your main character when your book is made into a movie? Have a beer or cup of coffee with that actor and talk about how you see the character. Could be complicated, he or she may have another idea altogether. How does this conversation go? #CreativeBrilliance #CreativeThinking #MindfulnessWriting #CreativeWriting

"I Hate Listening to My Voice" I always doubted my voicing abilities. Right from time immemorial...and I second-guessed every intonation and inflection. Many takes, countless script revisions, and hours spent voicing our feature documentary "What About Us" – it was a journey filled with self-doubt and perseverance. As each line echoed in the studio, I cringed, thinking, "Do I really sound like that?" Yet, amidst the self-critique, a transformation unfolded. The countless retakes weren't just about getting the perfect sound; they were about finding my voice, the one that resonated with the story we were telling. The documentary became a testament to overcoming insecurities. It turns out, the very voice I doubted may became the bridge connecting the audience to the heart of the narrative. It taught me that authenticity trumps perfection. So, while I may still cringe at the playback, I've come to appreciate the unique cadence that tells our story. In the end, it's not about hating my voice; it's about embracing the imperfect harmony that makes our documentary, and our journey, truly compelling. So here's the final job. What do you think? 🎬✨ #WhatAboutUs #findyourvoice #VoicingTheStory #authenticityoverperfection
