🧠 As Neurodiversity Celebration Week draws to a close, let’s continue empowering #neurodiverse voices and continue building an inclusive culture! Earlier this week, our People Team shared an insightful blog about Neurodiversity, and shared some really useful links and resources. Today, we hosted a Lunch & Learn where we discussed #neurodiversity and invited our colleagues to share their own experiences. It was inspiring and heart-warming to listen to our colleagues discuss their own journeys as neurodivergent individuals and their different perspectives. We also learned how neurodivergent individuals benefit the workplace, tips for supporting neurodivergent colleagues, and how we can continue to build a more inclusive workplace. 👐 We are proud of the inclusive environment we provide at Cashflows, where we support everyone to thrive. 💜 #ThisisND #people #inclusivity #diversity #cashflows

Are you working in a Neuroinclusive environment? As we continue Neurodiversity Celebration week we are continuing to educate ourselves to ensure we are supporting our clients to be more NeuroInclusive. Neurodiversity is and has always been a human fact: no two brains are alike. And yet, societal and employer awareness of this fact – and of the urgency of doing more to include the perhaps 20% of people who may be neurodivergent in some way – is much more recent. The term ‘neurodiversity’ wasn’t coined until the 1990s, 30 years or so after the beginnings of equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI), and it has taken until the late 2010s and early 2020s for the employment world to catch up. Neuroinclusion – the inclusion of all types of brains at work – is overdue, as is commitment from organisations to equality of opportunity and outcomes for neurodivergent employees. This should be welcomed with open arms by employers of all kinds as an opportunity to live their values, attract from a broader talent pool, increase retention, and have more effective teams. Neuroinclusion matters not only for business success, but also as a fundamental aspect of treating all employees equitably and embracing diverse ways of thinking. https://lnkd.in/eZk9XVas The seven key principles to guide organisations in fostering neuroinclusion: Understanding and Awareness: - Organisations should educate themselves about neurodiversity and raise awareness among employees. - Recognise that neurodiversity is a valuable asset. Leadership Commitment: - Leadership plays a crucial role in driving neuroinclusion. - Commitment from top management ensures that neurodiversity initiatives are prioritized. Recruitment and Selection: - Create inclusive recruitment processes. Consider alternative methods for assessing candidates’ abilities beyond traditional interviews. Workplace Environment and Culture: - Foster an environment where all employees feel comfortable and included. - Promote understanding, empathy, and respect. Reasonable Adjustments and Accommodations: - Provide reasonable adjustments to accommodate neurodiverse employees. - Tailor support based on individual needs. Career Development and Progression: - Ensure equal opportunities for career growth. - Address any barriers that may hinder neurodiverse employees’ advancement. Communication and Training: - Regularly communicate neuroinclusion efforts to all staff. - Provide training to enhance understanding and skills related to neurodiversity. Embracing neurodiversity benefits everyone and contributes to a more inclusive and innovative workplace! #neurodiversityweek #embraceneurodiversity #inclusion #dei #diversityequityinclusion #settingyouupforsuccess #beyondthebarriers

As today marks the final day of Neurodiversity Celebration Week, I wanted to take a moment to highlight the importance of accommodating and celebrating neurodiversity in the workplace. Here are some actionable steps you can take to make a more inclusive environment for neurodiverse individuals in your team: 1) Educate Yourself: As a manager, it's your responsibility to educate yourself about neurodiversity. There are so many resources available, including LinkedIn Learning sessions, that can help you better understand the experiences and perspectives of neurodiverse individuals. 2) Create a Supportive Environment: Create an environment where employees feel supported and valued. 3) Promote Awareness and Understanding: Encourage open and respectful conversations about different cognitive styles and strengths, and promote a culture of empathy and acceptance. 4) Lead by Example: Demonstrate your commitment to neurodiversity inclusion through your actions and behaviours. Show appreciation for the unique contributions of neurodiverse team members and advocate for their equal participation and advancement within the organisation. By taking these proactive steps, you can create a workplace where neurodiversity is not only accepted but celebrated, and where every individual has the opportunity to reach their full potential. #Neurodiversity #Inclusion #DiversityandInclusion #WorkplaceInclusion #CelebratingDifferences
