🎉 ITI World Symposium 2024: A Huge Success! 🎉 The 2024 World Symposium of ITI - International Team for Implantology held in Singapore was the largest ever, with about 5 600 dental professionals from over 100 countries gathering for three days of intensive keynote sessions, workshops, and courses. Attendees discussed real-life treatment challenges, focused on evidence-based science and patient-centered care, and strengthened community ties. The Straumann booth was a focal point, bustling with professionals eager to explore the latest innovations, and the atmosphere was fantastic: Virtual meetings proved to be effective, but after seven years, the attendees visibly enjoyed in-person interactions, whether at the Innovation Forum, the Straumann Corporate Forum, or the many other sessions. Have a look at the video and see for yourself! A huge THANK YOU to the ITI team, all the attendees, the brilliant speakers, and our colleagues who made the 2024 Symposium unforgettable. See you in 2027 in Milan!

📣 Inspiring last event yesterday, which did not feel at all as the last activity of the Personalised Implants community of the Northern Netherlands ! 🎉 It was a shared feeling that this type of cross collaboration structure helds great value for the region, at both research as well as industry level. Overall the partners have highlighted how the ecosystem successully brought experts together, creating links that were not existing before 2018 next to build a great level of trust and confidence in each other. The outcomes of the five innovation projects may lead to potential continuations, with the ambition that we can reduce further on the gap between fundamental research and the clinic. We would like to thank the speakers Joep Kraeima Frank IJpma Miriam Oldhoff Patrick van Rijn Jan van Opzeeland Jeroen Siebring, PhD Jan Willem Veldsink Martin Smit for their presentations and the audience for the engaging discussion. Event though this was a closing event, there are already plans in motion for future collaborative projects and points to follow-up on. We thank HTRIC for co-hosting the event and the overall organization and the Van Swinderen Huys Huys for the logistics at location. The ecosystem was made possible by the Open Innovation Subsidy that has been made available by Samenwerkingsverband Noord-Nederland (SNN), Ministerie van Economische Zaken en Klimaat en het @Europees Fonds voor Regionale Ontwikkeling (EFRO), with further support from the Provincie Groningen and the Gemeente Groningen. The program management has been performed by UMCG Innovation Center. For the full article, please click here. https://lnkd.in/e28uwXBk #medicaltechnology #personalisedmedicine

Human Plus Fund invests in Spatium Medical. Since the 1990’s, the number of laparoscopic surgeries has been ever growing, drastically reducing patient recovery time. However, the use of pressurized CO2 gas to create workspace for the surgeon, is not without consequences. Spatium Medical provides a solution by bringing smart, personalized insufflation to the world of laparoscopy. @rotterdam-based company Spatium Medical introduces the next standard of care for medical insufflation in laparoscopic surgery worldwide. The unique features of Spatium Medical’s product enable the surgeon to choose the right pressure for each individual patient, lowering the burden and reducing recovery time. It ensures stability of the surgical workspace, improving safety during the procedure. On top of that, it adjusts to mechanical ventilation. In other words, the technology is “breathing with the patient”, reducing patient burden and lowering the risk of complications. With funding from Human Plus, and with their expertise and network, Spatium Medical can develop its technology and build the business towards Series A investment. “Together with Human Plus, we have been able to tap into a broad European network of experts and gather essential feedback on the technology, the unmet needs and how our product can address these challenges.” says Willem Mees van der Bijl, CEO of Spatium Medical. About Human Plus Fund Human+ impact investment Fund accelerates high potential discoveries for the benefit of patients. Human+ Fund supports innovative product development in biomedical technology, diagnostics and pharma products. The fund brings outcomes of biomedical research to market faster, increasing impact for patients and generating a return on investment for funders.
