Today we can announce the appointment of Alison Dolan as our new Chief Financial Officer. We are fortunate to attract somebody of Alison’s calibre who will be a fantastic addition to the leadership team. Her extensive experience in fast paced, digitally led businesses will help us in this next phase of transforming M&S. Alison takes over from our Interim CFO Jeremy Townsend, and I want to thank Jeremy for all his hard work and support. He will leave M&S in the strongest financial health the business has been in for decades - but he's not going anywhere quite yet!! As was always the plan, he will remain with us until May 2025. Well done! ALISON I MET STUART IN MILTON KEYNES AND KNEW HE WOULD MOVE M&S BACK INTO THE CORRECT PATH INVEST IN UK FACTORIES AND GET RELIABLE SUPPLIERS. I HAVE 45 YEARS IN PRODUCTION DEALING WITH INDIA BANGLAESH ETC. AND SET UP A UK PRODUCTION FACTORY WE SUPPLIED M&S WITH THE BEST OFBRITISH RANGES THE FACTORY COST 150K TO SET UP ONLY 38 WORKERS BUT TURNED OVER 1.5 MILLLION IN ITS 1ST YEAR AND A GP 850K AND NET OF 550K SO IT WAS A RELATIVELY LOW COST FOR THE RETURN? I DESIGNED THE FACTORY AND SET IT UP IN 3MONTHS. THE MAIN THING THAT ALL THE OVERSEAS FACTORIES LACK IS ORGANIZATION AND RELIABILITY ON DELIVERIES. UK FACTORIES CAN AND ARE FINANACIALLY VIABLE AS THE DELIVERIES CUT OUT THE 90 OR 120 DAYS DELIVERY GAP. I HAVE BEEN ASKED TO SET UP A FULLY ROBOTIC PRODUCTION PLANT IN UK FOR T-SHIRTS PRODUCING PER MACHINE 1800 UNITS A DAY WITH THREE OPERASORS AND NOT THE 28 REQUIRED WORKERS TO PRODUCE MANUALLY COSTING $35 PRODUCTION COST.
