Shifting leadership perspectives and changing organizational cultures through transformative learning.
This week I’m working with an organization to empower their leaders to “find their edge” … to be more “bold” and “more assertive” while at the same time being more “discerning”. Our design team is anchoring into how we define leadership AS responsibility at Canvas, and as I was reflecting on this powerful work and story sharing from Andre Kotze - I am reminded again and again of the importance of critical reflection and “courageous” listening to drive what’s actually needed from and by leadership in today’s world. #transformativelearning #leadershipasresponsibility
There's a fine line between collaborations being too suboptimal or an outright fail. Here's how to navigate them. Article by Gregory Shea, Ph.D., Senior Fellow at The Wharton School, Paul Brown and Andre Kotze, CEO of AirtimeBA. #leadership #collaboration #communication

Leadership Expert, Speaker, Educator, Coach & Consultant - I Make Lives Better By Building Better Leaders
Emergency Management & Disaster Recovery Program - Survey Responding and managing an emergency event is, arguably, straightforward. The focus is on life safety and the protection of infrastructure. It is a well-established profession and with lots of formal & informal education opportunities. But the long-term recovery of people & families and communities following a disaster requires a host of actions to restore the physical, economic and social functions of individuals & families and communities, including the restoration of critical infrastructure; re-establishment of educational, civic and commercial services; and re-establishment of the homes & communities of displaced persons. It is the least formal phase of emergency response and there are few if any opportunities in Canada to learn the practical and applied aspects of Recovery. StevenArmstrong.ca & Bak Emergency Management in partnership with Mount Royal University would like your opinion on how YOU would like this course to be delivered. Please take this opportunity to develop a program that suits you best by learning more and completing the survey here: https://lnkd.in/g7CT-VDX

What if you were thrown into a leadership role? What would you do? Have you been observing and asking questions of the next level (or two or three) above you? What happens if there's no time or ability to have a formal training or transition? Would you be ready? Have you been in this type of situation (not necessarily the same scenario)? If so, what tips do you have? What worked well, and what was something you learned the hard way? #EMwellness #EmergencyManager #EmergencyManagement

In my journey of leading Land Enterprises Roofing, if one principle stands as the bedrock of our operations, it's trust. Trust, to us, means being reliable. We are committed to treating our customers the way we hope our family and friends are being treated by others around them. Here's how we do it: 1 - Do right by people We are committed to doing right by people. Whether it's a client in distress after a storm, a team member facing personal challenges, or a community in need, our approach is always to listen, understand, and act with kindness and fairness. 2 - Do right by the business Doing right by our business means standing behind our word and our work. It's about investing in quality materials, training our team to the highest standards, and consistently delivering on our promises. The trust we build is the foundation of our success. It turns customers into lifelong clients and advocates for our business and a team that feels the same, How do you build and nurture trust in your business or professional relationships? What does doing right by people and your business mean to you? #okc #professionaldevelopment #growth #leadership #LeadershipMotivation #PersonalDrive #BusinessGoals #trust

Pay it Forward, you’ll be gone one day - Our industry needs people, but not just warm bodies. We need real, skilled, hardworking people. People who can learn, adapt, and handle stress. People who can be relied on to get shit done. - The guys who have been doing this for years have done great, but they’re going to retire or die at some point and who will be left to take over? It may not be easy, it may not be quick, but we need to teach this next generation how to do the job. We have to expose them, give them experience, and teach them the high standards of this industry - If we don’t, we’ll be stuck with either nobody to do the job or bodies who perform the job in a low quality way. Everybody is a leader and we can all do better at this. Our world relies on the people who can do the bluecollar jobs. Our world needs more skilled people to do it - Bonus: if you’re wanting to BECOME a skilled tradesman. Shut up, show up, ask questions, take notes, and be somebody worth pouring into - 📸: my 12 year old brother digging his first hole with a trackhoe - #construction #bluecollar #leadership #heavyequipment #betterdirtworld #business #dirtyanddriven
