These examples underline the potential of AI to enhance decision-making and streamline processes. 🔹A crucial advice emerged for candidates navigating the job market: Prepare to overcome ATS (Applicant Tracking Systems) filters. Following🐾 on from our Trapeze HR webinar today on AI in HR – maximising potential & driving success, I was keen to share this poll filled in by 90 of the participants.   It’s not surprising that talent acquisition scores highest of all when it comes to the current use of AI in the People offering 💡 There are many steps in a hiring process & this can absolutely save resource & time, ensuring breadth of reach and consistency of approach when used cleverly⭐   I am however struggling with what’s missing…😕   We’ve talked about behaviours vs technical capability for years when it comes to talent - the latter can be learnt the fore simply can’t – even hiring into the most technical of roles still requires an individual with positive behaviours💓, we’ve seen this a myriad of times in the talent space.   How then, can we ensure we embrace 🤗 AI in the Talent space specifically, with a look-in 👀 for the human-being behind the CV or penned application? Artificial intelligence in HR: Are you ready for the future? 🚀 Yesterday I had the incredible opportunity to attend the How to use #AI in HR conference. 🤩 Artificial Intelligence is rapidly changing the world of HR and it's essential to stay at the forefront of these #HRinnovations. This conference provided valuable insights on using #AIinHR that I can't wait to implement within our own HR practices. We also immediately put everything we talked about into practice by #learningbydoing. I took away many ideas and especially motivation to implement some of the AI features into our HR workflows, such as generating job descriptions, job postings, competency profiles, interview questions, employer branding materials, social media content, automated responses to emails, text on carrier website, etc. AI brings so many opportunities in productivity management.🔋 Btw, are you familiar with AskPDF version 4.0? HAYS HR Report: More AI = less employees?    The 13th HR Report by Hays and the Institute for Employment Studies and Employability IBE addresses the question of how AI influences the corporate world.   Surprisingly, 40% of the companies surveyed are already implementing AI, with an additional 20% in the preparatory phase.   While many associate AI with innovation, most companies use AI to optimise existing business models. Process acceleration (45%) and data processing (34%) are seen as the biggest opportunities.   Contrary to the assumption around ten years ago that AI poses a significant threat to job security, there now seems to be a shift in thinking. More than half believe that the number of employees will either remain the same or increase, while 37% anticipate a decrease in the workforce in the future.   What is very interesting though: Non-managerial employees are much more likely to anticipate a reduction in the workforce (54%) compared to their superiors.   My take on the current report after many face-to-face conversations with our CEO clients:   We’ve just begun to see and use the potential of AI. In order to go beyond mere process optimisation, we need the right skills — and not just tech.   The data shows: 27% of companies are not sufficiently familiar with the application possibilities, and 23% lack the necessary skill set.   We require the right experts who can guide us towards truly innovative applications and implement them. We see the race for those highly in demand experts every day at Hays.   So for now and the foreseeable future, I say: AI = more experts. This past week, I had the incredible opportunity to attend the SHRM AI+HI Project at Microsoft - a summit that delved into the future of HR through the lens of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Human Intelligence (HI). The conversations, particularly those led by Microsoft's leadership, opened my eyes to the innovative and ethical ways AI can transform HR over the next decade. The SHRM AI+HI Project was not just a conference; it was a beacon for the future of human resources. Hosted by Nichol Bradford and George Rivera, it brought together leading minds from technology, academia, and government to explore how AI can enhance our human-centric practices. From Neel Adhya to Kathleen Hogan, and SHRM President Johnny C. Taylor, Jr., SHRM-SCP, each speaker offered unique insights into building a more inclusive, efficient, and ethically grounded workplace. Key takeaways for me included the importance of maintaining a human-centric approach in AI implementations, the potential for AI to enhance employee engagement and career growth, and the critical need for trust and transparency in AI integration. But what does this mean for us in HR? It's a call to action. To prepare our workplaces for AI integration, to prioritize ethical considerations, and to involve our employees in this transformative journey. The potential for AI to streamline operations, reduce bias, and improve recruitment and retention is immense, but it requires strategic planning and a culture that embraces change and innovation. Next week, I’ll delve deeper into my notes and share more detailed insights and strategic recommendations for integrating AI into HR practices. Stay tuned for a series of posts where we’ll explore actionable ideas, from hosting a 'Prompt-a-thon' for HR teams to using AI for job description analysis, and creating a talent marketplace within our organizations.
