Great progress on sodium-ion batteries in Europe driven by Northvolt and Altris AB, who have reached a density ratio of 160 Wh/kg (and forecasting an extra 25% increase for the next generation). One step forward to making the technology competitive with LFP batteries. Sodium is an abundant and relatively inexpensive resource, making Na-ion batteries potentially more cost-effective and less reliant on scarce (and typically less sustainable) materials like lithium.
