I shared what it is like leaving a great job at Intercom to figure things out. I dive into the story of my first venture, Octopods, and how it paved the way for Rasayel where we are inventing the way to sell on #WhatsApp. So many ups and downs building two tech startups, the lessons I've learned along the way, and the exciting future of WhatsApp as a business platform. 😉 Thank you SO MUCH Lee Haynes, Stefanija and Miodrag 😊🙏 #startups #entrepreneurship #careers #WhatsApp

Reflecting on my early career, I used to think the founders of companies had it easy, just reaping the rewards of my hard work. Fast forward to building my third company, and I realize just how wrong I was. Founding a company is demanding and challenging, but the benefits are truly wonderful if you're ready to put in the work. Excited to share more about my journey on the recent episode of "Life as a Founder" podcast. #Entrepreneurship #FounderLife #BusinessJourney #HardWorkPaysOff #LifeAsAFounder #BusinessLeadership #Startups #SuccessStory 🚀💼 You can catch it here: https://lnkd.in/g9bqGgbb

I recently came across a podcast episode that touched me, particularly the story of a Subedar Major who served in the harsh conditions of Siachen. His story isn’t just about the extreme environment; it’s about the unwavering sense of duty and the strength of character that we can all learn from, no matter where we work. In the freezing temperatures of Siachen, where simply surviving is a battle, this Subedar Major received the heart-breaking news that his daughter had passed away back home. Anyone would understand if he chose to leave immediately to be with his family. But instead, he stayed back to perform the last rites of his fallen soldiers, his brothers in arms. These men weren’t just colleagues; they were his family too. They lived together, ate together, and faced unimaginable challenges together. He understood that his duty didn’t end with his personal grief; it extended to ensuring that his comrades were honored in death as they were in life. Some might say this kind of dedication is unique to the military, and perhaps it is an extreme case. But that’s precisely why it holds such a powerful lesson for all of us. What we can take from this story is the profound sense of duty he demonstrated. His actions remind us that in any walk of life, our commitment to our responsibilities and the people we work with defines who we are. In an era where skills and qualifications are often highlighted, this story reminds us that it's our character and the integrity with which we perform our duties that truly make a difference. It's a reminder to build a foundation based on these values, as they will guide us through the toughest challenges, just as they did for this Subedar Major. I highly recommend watching this podcast episode. It's a source of inspiration that can reshape our understanding of leadership, and the essence of true service. After all, in any industry, the strength of character is what ultimately sets us apart. https://lnkd.in/dbYZbehz #SenseOfDuty #Inspiration #LifeLessons #CharacterBuilding

I was watching this insightful podcast conversation that Seema Amble had with Immad Akhund, Co-founder and CEO of Mercury. The podcast covers various topics on a founder’s journey of building a fintech company from scratch. Here are the main takeaways that can prove helpful to you: 1. Starting Strong - Immad's idea for Mercury brewed for years before its 2017 launch. Recognizing a gap in the market, he aimed to create a better banking experience tailored for startups and entrepreneurs amidst stagnant traditional options. 2. Keep Building Minimum “Delightful Product” - Building on a specific Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) of early-stage startups, Mercury's MVP focused on crucial features, like international wires and support for immigrant founders, setting a high bar for user experience. 3. Customer-Centric Approach - Initial customer feedback wasn't overwhelmingly positive, but Immad persisted. Recognizing that not every product addresses a burning pain point, he aimed to provide a superior user experience to captivate users. 4. Building Trust Early - Mercury's successful launch hinged on several factors: an unconventional product offering, credible investors, a polished user experience, and targeting a close-knit community within the startup ecosystem. 5. Scaling Strategy - Immad stressed the importance of founder-led initiatives in the early stages. Mercury initially focused on organic growth before gradually investing in sales, partnerships, and marketing efforts. 6. Pricing Philosophy - Rather than competing solely on pricing, Mercury aimed to provide a superior product experience. Immad emphasized the danger of a pricing-centric approach, focusing instead on creating value beyond just cost. 7. Sales as a Numbers Game - Shifting perspective on sales from an emotional process to a structured numbers game, Immad highlighted the significance of running a systematic sales pipeline for success. My two cents for fellow founders - Keep building a Delightful Product and a scalable distribution strategy. Embrace a customer-centric mindset, nurture trust, and focus on delivering value beyond just pricing. "Disruption is not a bug - it's a feature." Powerful description by Dr. Emily Chamlee-Wright of how large groups of humans learn to build for the future. Build. For. The. Future. Not the past! "The only easy day, was yesterday" is how Navy SEALs get up every day and do it better today than yesterday. Yesterday is done. Today is supposed to be hard. You are ready. That is what your past was for, the future. Time to go. Go move forward. Make progress today. Because in the future, you will realize how easy today really was. Go support the SEALs while they defend your freedoms! You can donate to the great Navy SEAL Foundation. https://lnkd.in/epWZYJJt
