Have you 𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙙 the world-famous "Dancing Noodles" of Haidilao? Here's a video...👉 Until a few weeks ago I didn't even realise this was a thing. My 10yr old was turning 11 and she insisted on the full Hot Pot experience of Haidilao. Off we went, frankly quite eager to take a break from the usual BS (Biryani and Shawarma, that is...😜) The service was ok. The food was good. But what blew me away was the 𝗛𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆. Here's what I mean: 1. Verrry attentive staff always within easy reach and easily visible. 2. A condiment counter that was 𝘶𝘯𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘷𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘺 well-stocked and included for free. 3. Staff putting together an impromptu goodie bag for my daughter's birthday. And then this amazing dish, aptly called "Dancing Noodles", deftly served by this talented chap complete with a dance that involves stretching the dough into noodle ribbons while gracefully twirling the long strands around...all done to Taylor Swift, 50-cent, etc. (I'm not kidding). Apparently I'm late to the party as this was already a viral product from a decade ago. (Haidilao now has a new dance called "Kemusan", which has also become an internet sensation...perhaps on my next trip!). So what's amazing about this? We tend to think of restaurants as places people go to, to DINE. Either alone or with company. Good ambience, service, food, drink and company. End of story. But what if going to a restaurant was instead 𝙚𝙡𝙚𝙫𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙙 to be ALSO about ... • a remarkable 𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚? • building 𝙢𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙨 of a special day? • delivering 𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 along with the food? • helping guests at the table 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙣𝙚𝙘𝙩 over shared excitement?    How many restaurants think in this way, and use it to 𝙚𝙣𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 they want to deliver to their patrons? 𝗽.𝘀. The curious case of special meals and schezwan noodles... The other day I went to a veg restaurant. The husband orders the South Indian special meals and the wife orders schezwan noodles. I thought what a contract? How do they pick a restaurant? Can they order something common? But then... I think about our choices as people, our likes and dislikes... the way we think... the way we act... Don't we all know at least 1 person who has a stark difference to what we prefer/ think and still gets along well? So what exactly is the key? The Objective -> The Why? => The Just Cause... Here the objective was lunch, to be relieved of hunger, which they have achieved in ways each knew best... Is it not the same with our teams and our colleagues? Let us be open to ideas, give scope for discussion, and learn from each other as we all put our best efforts towards THE WHY? Let us allow trying Schezwan noodles with Sambar, before we dismiss it as a bad idea, of course, unless we have tried it before ;) We never know, when it will spin off something so unique, that a new segment is created... Cheers to everyone celebrating diversity in ideas and unity in mission... PS: No that's not my plate... It's from Meta AI... The meal delivery zone is where team members will deliver your order directly to your car in a designated spot that allows for guests who have already received their order to “escape” from the line. This reduces wait times and allows our team to execute our hospitality standard upon delivery of, “make a statement, ask a question” without feeling rushed. Imagine pulling up to your designated zone, and a smiling team member greets you with, "Hey Sarah, I've got your Chick-fil-A favorites right here, including the extra Chick-fil-A Sauce you requested! Is there anything else I can get you today?" Statement & question phrasing allows us to identify the guest by name, mention an item in their bag and ask for any additional service needs which further promotes connection and builds brand trust!
