'Random Coffees' 🤔 What are they? Did you actually go on one - this photo looks somewhat edited 😅 Today, I got to have a Random Coffee with my colleague Mike Davies. We took 30 minutes away from the office to talk. We spoke mostly about running - Mike knows lots and I had a load of questions (Fartlek? 'Kenyan Hills'? Marginal gains? The six World Marathon Majors?) - and our time as Employee Trustees at Stephens Scown having served our terms at different times in our Employee Ownership journey. I forgot to take a photo because the conversation was so good, so Mike was happy to pose in the office instead 📷 Being able to step away from the office environment to get to know our colleagues more personally (and professionally but with less of a service delivery focus) is so beneficial to our ongoing professional relationship. We're all humans, and being to engage with someone on a human level, not just on a service-provision level, helps us to build trust with them and feel more personally fulfilled through the work we do together. I think Random Coffees are a great initiative from my business.
