At Suntory Oceania, we feel empowered to bring our authentic selves to work, recognising that our collective strength lies in our differences. Pride Month provides an opportunity to reflect, connect and reaffirm our dedication to fostering an inclusive workplace, which is why we’re actively engaging in education and awareness initiatives, ensuring that acceptance and understanding flourish. We’re proud to be contributing to the conversation through participation at the The Drinks Association Pride in Drinks evening, where we had the opportunity to share learnings and highlight opportunities for the LGBTQIA+ community within the drinks industry. #suntorypride #yatteminahare #pridemonth

My colleague and friend Tim Donnelly reminded me of this "WORLDS APART" video a while back and it is still as powerful as ever. We all have differences. Sometimes we think our differences will divide us. But conversation can always unite us. Please take 4 minutes to watch this Heineken clip produced by Publicis London if you haven't before. It's truly eye opening. https://lnkd.in/gTtWexj4 #Publicis #PublicisLondon #PublicisGroupe #Diversity #DiversityMatters #Equity #EquityMatters #Equality #EqualityMatters #Inclusion #InclusionMatters #Belonging #BelongingMatters #DEI #DEIStrategy #DEIB #DEIBStrategy #DEIBestPractices #DEIBBestPractices #Heineken #HeinekenCommercial #Sustainability #SustainabilityMatters #SustainabilityMattersAtAquent #GlobalWarming #StopGlobalWarming #LGBTQ #TransRightsAreHumanRights

How can hotel managers show their allyship to the Trans community during, and beyond Trans Awareness Week and day of Remembrance (13-19th Nov)? Firstly, what is allyship? Allyship is the active support for the rights of a minority or marginalized group without being a member of it. There are many ways hotel employees who do not identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ communities can show their support and allyship - and not just for Trans Awareness Week or Pride Month (June). A simple yet very effective way is by adding a touch of colour to your name badge. I recommend Badgie for all your LGBTQIA+ sticker and badge needs. 💜

CEO, Head of Product at Pink Coconuts, We help hospitality teams learn, improve and grow their skills through accessible technology, MBA Candidate, Queer Advocate
No Downloads! Hospitality teams in the hotel and restaurant industry have a hard time training and upskilling employees. I know because after working for years trying to build an LGBTQ friendly travel marketplace, I was tired of hearing 'Our employees need the training but we can't afford it right now.' I've done training and employee talks time and time again in my years as an advocate and there was no way I was going to go back in front of employees again and do that again. Absolutely no way. Until now...using mobile and text. Pink Coconuts has built a collection of fun, cool, media rich, conversational, gamified courses for hospitality teams. From Customer Service Essentials, Wine 101, Understanding Allergens and Food Preferences to Welcoming LGBTQ Guests of course! Plus many more. I'm excited to share our demo with Hotel and Restaurant Executives. Please reach out, i'd be happy to chat! #hospitality #tourism #elearning #ai #customerservice #training #edtech #futureofwork #inclusion #hotels #restaurants #employeeengagement

#EmployeeSpotlight Alert! 🌈 As we continue to embrace the spirit of Inclusion Month, it's time to shine the spotlight on one of our exceptional team members! Join us as we get candid with David Paul Mercado, Customer Relationship Management agent at FMC Philippines to learn about his unique journey and insights on how diversity has shaped his approach to building strong relationships within FMC and beyond. Q1: In your current role as a Customer Relationship Management agent at FMC, you play a critical role in maintaining customer satisfaction. How has your unique background and experience contributed to your approach in building strong relationships within the company and outside of it? Prior to joining FMC, I was a supervisor at a large supermarket in the Philippines. During my time there, I had the opportunity to experience a diverse range of perspectives, approaches and personalities. This experience taught me the invaluable skill of managing various situations with empathy. Upon transitioning to FMC, I was pleasantly surprised by the company’s inclusive culture and welcoming environment. At FMC, we are encouraged to be our authentic selves and it’s a place where your true beauty shines through, and you are accepted for who you are. Q2: Can you share a specific experience or moment where diversity within FMC positively impacted your work or personal life? I found great value in joining the Spectrum workstream at FMC as it allowed me to truly embrace my authentic self. It empowered me and helped me express myself especially during the “See Yourself, Be Yourself” inclusion month campaign. During this campaign, I confidently donned a long yellow attire and walked through the head office corridors, just like a supermodel! This experience reinforced my sense of belonging and made me feel incredibly welcomed within this company. Q3: In your opinion, how can colleagues, regardless of their sexual orientation, be better allies to the LGBTQ+ community? It's important to acknowledge that we can't expect everyone to fully understand the diverse range of personalities and genders that exist. However, as a LGBTQ+ ally and a proud member of Spectrum, I firmly believe that when there is mutual respect between individuals, we can find a common ground and build bridges of understanding. Let's work together to foster an inclusive space where everyone can freely express themselves. #DEI #FMCInclusionMonth #FMCPhilippines #fmcasiapacific

Psychological safety is the key to productivity. There are several studies showing that teams that feel safe expressing themselves perform better. Performance is not everything - they are also happier, more creative, and better communicators. It's Pride Month next month. Openly including employees from the LGBTQIA+ community can make the world of a difference, not only in terms of their productivity, but also for appreciating and celebrating who they are. Pride biscuits are a subtle yet powerful way to show your support, and include often marginalised groups. Check out our Pride biscuit collection below for inspiration and ballpark pricing. As always, our service is completely bespoke, so if you have something else in mind, or have a tighter budget, reach out to me, and I will develop a solution together with you. #pridemonth #pride #inclusivity

LGBTQIA+ Inclusion: Recognizing and validating diversity within the community, ensures that all identities are acknowledged and respected. Visibility: Naming different identities, helps to increase awareness and understanding of various sexual orientations and gender identities. Support: Foster a sense of belonging and solidarity among individuals who might feel marginalized or excluded because of their identity. Advocacy: Serve for advocacy, help to promote equal rights, combat discrimination, and address issues specific to each group within the community.
At Kao, we believe that embracing the world’s diversity makes businesses and society stronger and more beautiful.
