Global Head of Change Leadership & D&I in Arla Foods | Executive Advisor | Keynote Speaker | Making Organizations more HUMAN | Change Accelerator | Transforming mindset & behaviors | Inclusive Leadership
When I look at the year 2023, I see one thing that goes across all months and initiatives, professionally as well as personally; TEAMING! #ItTakesAVillage "Teaming is collaboration and coordination to get important things done without the luxury of stable membership," Amy Edmondson My Top 8 Highlight's of 2024 💥 Riyadh, Oman & Dubai in Jan to understand the context for D&I and Women's Rights. 💥 The launch of #MyStory and #WeAreAllArlaTalks where we have talked about Women's Day, Religion, being an expat, Pride, Allyship, Mental Health and Critical Illness. Our stories and talks reached 3500 colleagues globally with our talkshows and 4300 with our stories. 💥 In March and April, I took some time off to travel the world - Singapore, Australia and Bali with my kids, Mom and stepdad. It was an amazing journey exploring different cultures and leaning back, trusting what comes next. 💥 I talked about the way, we see Diversity & Inclusion in Arla Foods at a conference in Industriens Hus. The event was hosted by DI - Dansk Industri & Goodtalks. Arla Foods won in the category HR/CSR/D&I Leader of the year. I am so proud of, what we all have achieved together. 💥 Arla Foods hosted an event at Handlingsskibet discussing different lenses to D&I in a panel with Dansk Industri Pernille Erichsen, Solsikken 💥Stine Ringvig Marsal💥 and Deloitte Michael Vad facilitated by Katja Iversen. We were trying to get a better understanding of the challenges and how we solve them! Also, Dansk Industri hosted an event at Ledelsesscenen; "How to attract and engage ALL (diverse) talents?" 💥 All year, we built on our "Milky Way" of doing Diversity & Inclusion with 1) Dashboards showing employee lifecycle data, 2) Dialogue tools & 3) Testing, failing & improving. 💥 We built two different workshop concepts aiming at changing the language. The first, "Inclusion starts with I" is building on the way, we see Leadership in Arla. You need to understand and lead yourself before you can understand and lead others. More that 900 Senior Leaders, Leaders and colleagues has now had this conversation with a satisfaction score of 5 out of 6. Next year, we are rolling out "Inclusive Culture IS US" with a focus on Psychological Safety, Allyship and (Non) Inclusive Language and behaviour. It takes a village. And without our Leaders leaning in and the support of our HR Community, this was not possible. 💥 Networks and support for Senior Leader Women in a concept called #EmpowHER! I know. All trained professionals across the practice area DEIB told me not to. There is "no evidence" for this. It might be true. But when you use data for that conclusion, you also need to look at context, conditions and sincerity. I have had so much positive feedback from our women across Senior Leadership on our initiative and the fact that they now serve as a sounding board for our EMT. Thank you ALL for a fantastic 2023! Thank you for all the great collaboration, partnerships & new friendships!

Earlier this week, together with a few of Talent Acquisition team members Rachna Ramanathan and Mitchell Arts from The HEINEKEN Company we participated in the Global People #DiversityDinner. Under the inspiring motto of 'Food Brings People Together,' Global People organised the largest diversity dinner in the Netherlands, bringing together around 30 employers and 350 diverse young professionals through objective recruitment by The Selection Lab —no old-fashioned CVs, just intelligent, scientifically substantiated, talent-driven matching. You might wonder, how does this work? The Diversity Dinner is all about "sitting down at the table" with top multicultural talents. The concept is simple: each company hosts eight candidates who meet their organization’s requirements. In our case, we looked for individuals embodying our HEINEKEN Behaviours outlined below: 1️⃣ Play to win and celebrate success 2️⃣ Deliver the goods 3️⃣ Think consumers first 4️⃣ Make courageous moves 5️⃣ Champion a culture of belonging 6️⃣ Learn, share, and reapply 7️⃣ Have real conversations 8️⃣ Embrace learning and growth Throughout the evening, we engaged with these talented individuals, sharing our personal experiences at The HEINEKEN Company and discussing what we seek in future team members. We also offered tips on interview preparation and how to articulate the unique value they can bring to an organisation. I am incredibly proud to work for a company that is committed to becoming an inclusive, fair, and equitable organisation. At The HEINEKEN Company, we believe that embracing diversity, equity, and inclusion sparks joy and fosters a sense of true togetherness. 🌍💚 Looking forward converting a few of these talents into The HEINEKEN Company and teams. #DiversityDinner #Inclusion #Diversity #TheHEINEKENCompany #Togetherness #TalentAcquisition

🎤Nevyan Petrov: We all spend a large part of our daily life with colleagues, and being happy at work largely determines whether we will generally be happy. Our company has clear #values - they are essential to our people and I am glad that our #team shares them as their own because they help us to build a sense of belonging. One of them reads "We over I" and I believe it best describes the culture in our company, which is like a big real family.💓 How did we achieve an increase in the #engagement of our team to record levels, how do we attract and develop our #talents and how did we deserve the #TopEmployer recognition?🎯You can find the answers to these and other questions in the interview with Coca-Cola HBC Bulgaria’s People and Culture director in the new issue of BGLOBAL MAGAZINE, as well as here: ➡️ https://bit.ly/3ODMfq5

Male and female professions are still stereotypes in Lithuanian society, often encountered when discussing technological and engineering professions and business management. However, positive trends are rising, as observed in the UAB Švyturys - Utenos alus. Today, we have women working as production operators, process engineers and process analysts in two of our breweries, although men are still much more likely to apply for these positions. In addition, the Utena brewery is headed by a female manager who knows her job and the production processes well. 🙌 We strive to value all employees, regardless of gender or other social and cultural identities. Carlsberg Group has a Diversity, Equality and Inclusion Policy, which includes a commitment to fostering an inclusive, empowering and respectful work environment. Specific measures are in place to achieve these commitments, including training in inclusive leadership and unconscious bias recognition. The Group aims to have at least 40% of women in senior management positions in its companies. 👏

I had the privilege of being a panelist at the “International Women’s Week 2024: Virtual Ask Me Anything (AMA) with foodpanda leaders.” It was an honor to exchange perspectives and experiences with foodpanda APAC and Philippine leaders on understanding inclusion, improving work-life balance and organizational support to boost women’s engagement. The inspiring takeaways were: 💜 Cherish personal life, family, and loved ones equally to work. 💜 Celebrate women and every unique person every day, not just on International Women’s Day. 💜Have the courage to speak up and seek support. I shared my own insights: 💜 Mentally balance work & life to achieve satisfaction, regardless of being a family person or a workaholic. 💜 Create psychological safety by first seeking to understand, then to be understood, to make room for feedback and better improvement. 💜 Invest time in self-care, continuous learning, and personal development for personal renewal and growth. Let’s all strive for “inspired inclusion” every day. 🌹🐼 🐼🐼 💖

In an increasingly diverse world, fostering inclusion and effective collaboration is paramount. Companies like Dutch Lady Milk Industries Berhad (DLMI) understand this well. They embarked on a transformative journey to bridge cultural gaps and promote inclusivity with Cultural Impact. DLMI, part of FrieslandCampina, partnered with Cultural Impact and Kuala Lumpur Shakespeare Players (KLSP) for an interactive workshop that leveraged the performing arts to provoke introspection and dialogue. Trust, transparency, connection, and vulnerability are the cornerstones of successful teams. Through various activities and scenarios, team members at DLMI learned how trust is built, transparent communication fosters understanding, connections transcend cultural barriers, and vulnerability encourages open dialogue and empathy. DLMI's journey exemplifies the power of the interactive arts in promoting inclusion and collaboration. In a world where diversity is an asset, embracing it and promoting inclusivity are ongoing journeys that lead to stronger, more resilient, and more successful teams. This workshop isn't just an event; it's a transformative experience that enables teams to connect on a deeper level, understand one another better, and work together more effectively. The Diversity Equity and Inclusion role in the corporate was a newly formed role in recent times. The question I had while learning about the rise and fall of the Chief DEI Officer, was since when was a person's ability not enough to land the role they applied for? Living in Indonesia, the DEI role is not a necessity since most jobs are local and are filled by locals. It was interesting to see that the role of DEI has been deprioritized as fast as it was prioritized. And here's the million dollar question, was the DEI role really a necessity or is it part of corporate branding to try and fit into the modern conversation? Procurement Manager - Sourcing Intelligence, Productivity Enhancement, and Project Excellence | PepsiCo | Ex Diageo | Ex Unilever | Ex Samsung
🎉 Celebrating Personal Creativity at PepsiCo! 🎉 I’m thrilled to share a recent win that’s close to my heart! In a recent naming contest at PepsiCo, I had the honor of proposing a name for an exciting project for the construction of new cutting-edge factory for Potato Chips in the North of Vietnam (Ha Nam Factory: A $90 million investment in a food processing facility located in Ha Nam province. This project, set to launch in 2024, marks PepsiCo’s 30th year in Vietnam) The Win: My creative idea resonated with the essence of wordplay “OPEN+” but the bigger idea behind it is to showcase who we are, why we do business, where we grow, what we care, and so much more about the care of environment - see the details in photo description. Why It Matters: While it might seem like a small win in a contest, it’s a giant leap for self-ideation! As someone working in procurement, I’m proud that creativity knows no bounds - even in our functional roles. We’re not just building factories; we’re shaping the future. 💪 🌟 Call to Action: Let’s keep driving ideation, whether we’re in procurement, marketing, or any other function. Together, we’ll continue to innovate, inspire, and make PepsiCo a global force for good. #pepsico #sustainability #projectnamingcontest #greenenergy #environment #open+ #ideation

As part of the International Women’s celebration this month, we are highlighting some of the women leaders across Nestlé Professional. Cinzia Silvestri, Business Lead Plant Based Meal Solutions for Nestlé Professional Europe, exemplifies innovation and commitment to Making More Possible. Q. What do you like about working in food service? ✔️ Food service is a dynamic, vibrant industry, always on the move and demanding innovation, speed, and adaptability—qualities that match my international experience and love for fast-paced, competitive environments. At Nestlé Professional, I find the entrepreneurial spirit, curiosity, and passion in my colleagues inspiring. Working in a regional role allows me to have a multimarket category, customer and consumer understanding and my involvement in the Plant Based Category with 𝘎𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘯 𝘎𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘮𝘦𝘵 fuels my personal purpose, knowing our choices impact the planet and its people. Q. How do you inspire inclusion? ✔️ In my decade-plus experience in diverse international roles, I've learned the importance of cultivating a respectful and accepting work culture. In our English-speaking environment, where team members often have diverse cultures and backgrounds and are living in different countries, leading by example is key. I prioritize showing genuine respect for varied viewpoints and encouraging open dialogue. This approach helps create a safe space where everyone feels comfortable to be their authentic self, express themselves, fostering an inclusive atmosphere. Working in cross-functional teams presents a valuable opportunity for team members to learn from each other, enhancing our decision-making with diverse perspectives and deeper understanding. At Nestlé, we emphasize training on unconscious bias and inclusion, and as a leader, I believe in going beyond training awareness. It's about acting and actively encouraging feedback, addressing concerns promptly, and ensuring all voices are heard and valued. Q. What advice would you give to young women aspiring to build a career in the food service industry? ✔️ The food service industry is multifaceted and full of possibilities. It’s crucial to identify an area that genuinely excites you, whether that's in culinary arts, marketing, restaurant management, or another area. Embrace curiosity, flexibility and adaptability as the industry is dynamic and always evolving. Choosing a company whose values resonate with your own is also important for purpose, motivation, and a fulfilling career. Remember, out-of-home is often the birthplace of new trends, so it's an excellent sector for driving meaningful changes. Look for role models or mentors within the industry – their experiences and insights can be invaluable in shaping your career path. #InternationalWomensDay #WomenInFoodService #Leadership #Innovation #MakingMorePossible
