Cybersecurity is a field where you often have to assess what someone wants to do then either approve it or disapprove it. Three things that have helped me throughout my career: 1. Respond quickly so people don't feel the urge to completely avoid the approval process. 2. If you have to say no, provide a reference to policy / standards, if there is one. There usually is. 3. If you say no, propose some options that are acceptable. TLDR: Get job done well without being a huge roadblock! #business #cybersecurity #infosec
