❤️ Happy 1st February ❤️ For those of my connections in tax and audit - well done for getting through January! 👏 When working with people, teams and business leaders, we regularly adopt a process of reflecting on what we've just done and even more importantly agreeing actions and what we are going to do differently as a result. And there's no better time than the start of the month to do this. We regularly do this as part of our programmes as our ethos at theGrogroup is to have impact, we are driven to make a measurable contribution which means that we do things differently! So here's goes .... reflecting on my January, for me personally I'm happy to say I've: ✔ completed dry January - although being honest haven't felt a massive benefit, other than the satisfaction of doing something I set out to do! ✔ spent more time face to face with my Co-directors and some of the team. I get my energy from being with people, especially when they are such an energetic, positive bunch! ✔ been reminded how important our health and well-being is, and this has definitely made me make some changes going forward And in February I'm looking forward to spring flowers (daffodils, tulips & snowdrops are my favourite), lighter days, pancakes, celebrating those I love (even if Valentines day is a bit of a money making hype!), seeing more contacts in person & will probably have a few of these too 🥂 ! Today, I'm celebrating 12 Years in the US! 🎉 Twelve years ago, I embarked on a journey to the United States that has changed my life in so many ways. This incredible adventure allowed me to meet my amazing wife, Siobhan, and connect with countless inspiring individuals who have shaped my path. To express my gratitude to everyone who has been a part of this journey, I want to share 12 books that have had a significant impact on my life. HOW TO YEAR-END REVIEW LIKE A BOSS. As I look back on my first year as a mom (now with a 1 year old!!), a blockbuster Q4 as a business owner (I had more speaking engagements than ever before), and a start raving fan of coaching work (was deeply involved in philanthropic and thought leadership work), I was deeply moved by the abundance, success, and progress that I created AND that my clients generated through our annual year-end review. So much so, I found myself with a celebration hangover that lasted a few weeks!! Celebration continues to be a growth edge for me. Along with owning all the ground taken in reflecting on where I've been and who I've become. Interested in creating intentional moments of celebration for yourself and your year? 🎉 Celebrating Our Victories, Big and Small 🎉 Today marks a personal milestone for me, one that might seem minor to some, but it's a victory worth sharing. For the first time, I navigated the daunting process of getting my business taxes done. In years past, just the thought would have spiraled me into a panic. But this year was different. Thanks to Positive Intelligence training created by Shirzad Chamine, I approached the day with a manageable level of anxiety. No, it wasn't a walk in the park—I was still anxious and jittery and in my head—but, importantly, it didn't escalate. My "Sage" was in the driver's seat, keeping the "Saboteurs" in the back seats for me to accomplish what was necessary. It wasn't a struggle bus today, more like a sedan or a two-seater... 🤣 This experience, while it might appear small, is a monumental victory for me. It's a testament to the power of personal growth and mental resilience. And it's a reminder that celebrating our victories, no matter how minor they may seem, is crucial.
