🚶♀️ 🚠 Hike Up. Gondola Down. Repeat. 🚶♀️ 🚠 Let's talk #ElevationEverest. 🗻 We didn't know the first thing about "Everesting" training until our friends Alex, Daniel, Kayla, and Paul reached out. But we certainly understand event strategy and are flattered to join the team. The first-ever event, The Half Everest, will take place on September 28, 2024, at Winter Park Resort t. Athletes can compete solo or as part of a relay team to climb half the elevation of Mt. Everest by hiking up the mountain, riding the gondola down, and repeating until they reach 14,516 ft. Celebrate in between laps and at the finish line with music, activities, and more at Base Camp. HIKE UP: Each lap up the mountain is ~1,500 ft of elevation gain and 1.9 miles long. GONDOLA DOWN: Once you reach the top, ride the gondola down to start your next lap or switch out with a team member. REPEAT: Teams and solo athletes will have 17 hours to climb the mountain a total of 10 times - accumulating 14,516 ft in elevation gain over 19 miles. Here's where it gets fun: I (Mike) opened my mouth and decided to enter a team. We have two spots left. Interested in joining? Our treat (and we consider our team quite recreational and non-competitive). Let us know in the comments if you'd like to join our relay team. After ChatGPT is done writing this post I'm going to ask it how to train for a Half-Everest. Learn more: Elevation Everest

Summertime means more golf time. For me, golf is more than a challenging game and great exercise, it's been a lifelong ritual. I started playing when I was 13-years-old at Belvedere Golf Course, my home course on beautiful PEI. As a teen, I'd bike there at 7 a.m. and play 36 holes most days. Through my late teens up to my early 30s, I didn't play much because I was at school, building my career, and then focused on my new family. Now, I'm on the green at 6 a.m., often with my three sons or good friends (a few pictured below). So far, my best round ever was -71, or one under par. What's been your best score so far this year? What summer activities do you enjoy most? #golf #activesummer

MONDAY'S MIND BENDER: FY = F50 End of 'EOFYS' sales in Australia. And the start of a new 'financial year' year. Is that tautology? Hmmmm, maybe. In Australia, it is indeed the start of a new FY. Allocations have been set, and new mountains are there to climb. However, the thought for this Monday's mind bender is not just about the new FY. It's also about F50. What's that?? Well, have you spotted the SailGP? It's the grand prix of sailing. With 50 foot catamarans that can fly through the water on foils. Hence called F50. I caught a bit of the crazy action from New York Harbour over the weekend. Check it out here: https://lnkd.in/gFMQdUsm And if you're like me, and didn't quite get the rules and scoring at first glance, then read on here: https://lnkd.in/g-6AdGDX The insight from all this? Take your new FY one race at a time, measure what matters most, accumulate your points, and you'll get to the top of your ladder. Wherever that may be. Go for it like a F50, and get up on those foils. Happy new FY #marketing #technology #innovation #business #strategy

For the first time ever, World’s Toughest Mudder, will be descending on European shores, as the pinnacle of obstacle course events debuts in the UK. Coming from its usual location in the U.S., this event is not for the faint of heart. It is the most extreme, imposing, pulse-pounding, heart-stopping 24-hour obstacle course challenge on the planet. Breaking away from conventional mass participation events, Tough Mudder is the undisputed leader in extreme obstacle course races. With a host of events all over the UK for all ages over a variety of distances, nothing comes close to the World’s Toughest Mudder - an event that promises to redefine the boundaries of endurance, unleashing a challenge that will leave participants questioning and shattering their limits. Thanks to a steady growth in the Tough Mudder brand and a renewed excitement for large scale obstacle events, the bucket list challenge will be coming to Belvoir Castle, Grantham - home of the Tough Mudder Midlands https://lnkd.in/eCWGZzi2 #News

It may come as a surprise to learn how much I enjoy the month of July (especially since I live in South Texas and it is really hot). My love for July is powered in party by the fact that the Tour de France spans the majority of the month. There are so many things to enjoy about the Tour. For one thing, the cyclists are really fast, and it is incredible to see how quickly they can climb mountains (and safely descend them). The attacks and strategy are fascinating and the competitions within the competition are hard to beat. Although only a few of the nearly two hundred riders stand a chance to wear the yellow jersey, there are so many other things to compete for. Riders compete for stage wins, and each stage presents its own set of challenges that some riders fare better at facing. Time trials, mountains, sprint stages, and mountain stages with sprint-style finishes are just a few of the options. I am a little embarrassed to admit it but the drama is interesting. Will your favorite sprinter finish this mountain stage within the time cutoff? The cutoff is a moving target determined by the time it takes the first rider to finish the stage, by the way. Will a rider come back from an accident arguably caused by another rider? Will a rider fall in line and help his teammate who stands a better chance of winning the stage and/or the Tour? Lastly, I love learning more about the history and geography of France, and beyond. Les vues sont incroyables. Do you enjoy watching the Tour de France? Do you have a favorite memory? Please share below. https://www.letour.fr/en/

1moI’m looking forward to attending this year and seeing some positive changes as the previous sponsor took away all the things that made this stop on the tour a great experience!
