🌟 We're shining a spotlight on the Rainforest Alliance's Forests Lead, Emmanuelle Berenger, who spoke at the panel “The Power of Trees: Preserving Forest Biodiversity” during the #ChangeNOW2024 sustainability summit a couple weeks ago! Some key takeaways that emerged from her discussion include: 🌳 Protecting standing forests is the most effective way to preserve forest biodiversity, and the best guardians of forest are the local communities who rely on them for their livelihoods and have developed a strong connection with nature. 🌿 While these communities are critical to protecting and restoring forests, they need to have the resources, ownership, and support to be able to do that.
