The fastest and easiest way to get rid of unneeded medical items is to donate them. Depending on the items, consider the following options for donation: A local hospice, nursing home, church, Veterans Affairs hospital, or Center for Independent Living Charities, including Alliance for Smiles, American Red Cross, American Medical Resource Foundation, Easter Seals, Med-Eq, MedShare, Project CURE, and United Way A local Goodwill store or Salvation Army Eyeglasses The Lions Club Recycle for Sight program, Eyes for the Needy, and New Eyes A local eye doctor who may participate in one of these programs Hearing aids The Starkey Hearing Foundation Hear Now program The Lions Club Hearing Aid Recycling Program, Hearing Charities of America, and Hearing Loss Association of America In some instances, charitable giving has the added benefit of being tax-deductible. On the form, choose your valentine, and it will be printed and given to a child in the hospital. It takes about 30 seconds, and it's FREE. Once you submit it, you are presented with an option to donate. The card printer is matching donations, and again, the donation is optional. No deadline was listed for when they will stop accepting valentines, but the sooner, the better. There are many children's hospitals that are doing this, so if you have additional time, try another. Just use your favorite search engine to find Valentines for Children's Hospitals. Some allow you to write a personal message (Cincinnati does not). And we need your help to fill our shelves for the summer! If you’re ready to make a difference, here are 4 easy ways you can help: 1️⃣ **Order Donate-by-Mail Bags:** Can't make it to our Family Centers in person? No problem! You can still contribute by ordering a Donate-by-Mail bag. Simply fill the bag with new or gently used baby and toddler items and send it back to us using the prepaid shipping label provided. 2️⃣ **Schedule a Donation Drop-off:** If you prefer to donate in person, we invite you to schedule a time to drop off your donations at our New York or Boston Family Center. Our team will be on hand to greet you and personally thank you for your generosity. 3️⃣ **Host a Collection Drive:** Gather your friends, family, or colleagues and host a collection drive to gather much-needed items. We'll provide you with the materials and resources you need to make your collection drive a success. 4️⃣ **Clear Our Amazon Wish List:** Don’t have baby or toddler items to donate? Consider making a financial donation (and check if your employer will match on our website), or help clear high-need items off our Amazon Wish List. For our New York and Boston centers, we have curated lists of items we need to fill the shelves for our families. Excited to have the opportunity to volunteer with RMHC. Research indicates supporting the entire family during a child’s critical illness can improve resilience, reduce stress and enhance wellbeing for several crucial reasons: ✅  Emotional Well-Being: A child’s illness affects the entire family - parents, siblings, and extended family members experience stress, anxiety, and fear. ✅  Practical Assistance: Supporting the whole family enables the sharing of responsibilities to alleviate the daily burden of families managing critical illnesses. ✅ Financial Strain: Community resources, counselling, and financial aid can ease the burden of medical expenses. ✅ Sibling Support: Emotional support for siblings of critically ill children can ease related disruption and anxiety. ✅ Parental Health: Support for parents to assist in the maintenance of their own physical and mental health can assist in the provision of better care. ✅ Family Dynamics: Critical illnesses strain family relationships. Open communication, counselling, and support groups can help maintain healthy dynamics and ease the strain on family relationships. ✅ Child’s Recovery: Improved positive health outcomes have been linked to the provision of a supportive family environment. 

For most of us, bathroom supplies are a negligible expense. But when you care for 70+ kids, they quickly become a problem! Imagine spending upwards of $2.5k a month on bathroom supplies.
