What comes to your mind when you hear the name ODIN? If it’s an old guy with birds on his shoulders, here’s a new one for you: ODIN is The Open Discovery Innovation Network. A patent-free drug discovery and diagnostics platform funded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation. The scientific scope of the programme is cardiovascular diseases, cardiometabolic diseases and infectious diseases. ODIN bridges the gap between academia and industry, facilitating open, precompetitive research collaborations. The initiative is rooted at Aarhus University, but five Danish universities are partners, and the collaboration opportunities extend to international participants, creating a global network of innovation 🌍 💡 One unique aspect of ODIN is that all funded projects share their knowledge with the public, allowing for free commercial use. This open approach eliminates the need for IP negotiations, making it easier and faster to initiate projects. 🤝 As a company, you can join ODIN at no cost and are not required to make cash contributions. While active participation is encouraged, there are no fixed levels of contributions or time registration required. This flexible model is designed to foster collaboration without barriers. Do it for the easy of collaboration, scouting of new technology and talent, access to new resources and to de-risk wild ideas. 🎉 ODIN also offers a series of matchmaking and ideation events. These events provide a platform to showcase research needs and project ideas, find partners, and receive valuable input from the ODIN community. The U.S. Economic Development Administration announced that the Upstate of South Carolina was named as one of the 31 federally designated tech hubs as part of the Tech Hubs Program which is aimed to at transforming high-potential regions of the country into globally competitive innovation centers.
