LinkedIn advertising is a joke and a half. What does this mean for you? Not much. All right, I lied. LinkedIn advertising is one of the most effective ways to close your ideal customers. Today, I will reveal three ways you can make your online advertising make money. 1. Copy is not something you write; it is words you assemble. I am paraphrasing one of the advertising pioneers, Eugene Schwartz. So what can you do to assemble your copy? Do this: >> Schedule a short phone or video interview with your ideal customers. >> Read product reviews and cross reference common words. >> Look at what your competitors do right. >> Follow current trends. >> Have fun. And that's not all. 2. Create a snappy, concise headline. Consider the amount of text a person sees in the run of a day online--more words than they can count. So what will you do to make your headline stand out? Use words like: Breakthrough. Discover. Announcing. Introducing. Yes. Finally. At last. Let's pretend you are helping people manage their monthly expenses. Your headline would show them methods to stick to their monthly spending plan. Here is a prime example: Discover 5 new and easy ways to save more money this year without giving up the things you love. Do you see how one claim highlights a specific benefit? Of course, you do. You are an intuitive person. And here's the kicker. 3. Use a different and unorthodox idea. People want a Godfather offer they cannot refuse. And it is your job to give it to them. How? Well, one lazy way comes to mind. Make your idea specific and bizarre. Let's say you are selling watermelons on the street. How would you get people to buy your watermelons instead of going to other vendors? Easy. You tell a story about how your watermelons grow in a climate that's different from the rest. The reason why they are smaller is that the temperature and position of the sun make the juice of the watermelon sweeter. There you have it. Do you see how I flipped the idea? Look for best performers 2-3 mo's old. 5. Open them in new tabs. 6. Go through each one & think: - Could I improve this carousel? - Could I make this carousel a cheat sheet? - Could I turn this video into a carousel? - Could I make this text post a carousel? - Could I create a cool cheat sheet of this? - Could I write a different spin on this? 7. Schedule new ideas into my Publer calendar. 8. Upgrade, create new carousels, cheat sheets, videos. 9. Post, measure, & compare the results. --- Don't just re-post the same exact content. - Put a different spin on it. - Execute with a new content medium. - Change the hook and core of the content. LinkedIn is SOOO underrated! 🙊 I'm in a meeting today and a someone says: "I saw your video yesterday where you talked about how you'll do a Free Diagnostic for companies that are spending $20K per month on Google Ads. Well, we spend (insert a number 10x of $20K+++) and I don't think we're getting what we need out of our PPC. Can you do a Free Diagnostic for us.?" My Answer: "Hell yeah!" Anyway, my point is. I posted a raw, unedited video of myself pitching these Free Diagnostics and all I was asking for in the post was feedback from my network on what they thought of it - and it lead to this conversation! My take away = Stay active on LinkedIn, post things that are a little uncomfortable or vulnerable, the more you post, the more your connections see.
