Reasons for BUS DRIVER SHORTAGE: I Love Driving, Kids,Field Trips (after school>Sports,etc)&Summer Time off so I can VISIT my 89 year old MOM>Too Bad>Love, Age/Driving Experience(44 yrs),Excellent Driving Skills doesn’t EARN a Driver Same Pay Opportunities(or Pay based on High Quality Road Experience of All Big Cities & Types of Weather)as Veteran Drivers doing Same Job as PAY is based ONLY on SENIORITY>I wish there was a PROCESS of being Graded as a Bus Driver based on REAL EVERYDAY BUS 🚌 ROUTE/FIELD TRIP DRIVING > I have always stood up&Supported Equal Pay (if Skills/Responsibilities are similar for same job)for woman & any minority in Corporate World since working for the Archaic F.W. Woolworth Co in Corporate Headquarters in New York City from 1988-94.I DEFINITELY KNOW HOW IT FEELS TO BE PAID LESS THAN EVERYONE ELSE FOR DOING THE SAME JOB w/ TONS of DRIVING EXPERIENCE&being a High Quality Driver w/ Excellent Driving Skills>A 20 something year old would be paid the same as me at 60 years old! IT IS WHAT IT IS>I SURVIVE(Pay Bills)as a BUS DRIVER because I work LOTS of OTHER JOBS(King’s Island&will need to find supplemental income between Halloween&Mid-April) though I’m Fortunate to get lots of Field Trip Hours,but at a lower hourly rate then Regular daily Bus driver Pay

Here's a thought for you. Instead of getting drivers who are applying to 5-6 companies A DAY delivered to you. Why not get drivers in your inbox that are applying to 0 jobs daily? Drivers that aren't actively looking for a new job. Driving trucks isn’t for everyone. But if you’re responsible for finding and hiring people to pick up or deliver your goods, it can be frustrating to have minimal options from which to choose. Certainly, you can’t force people to apply for this position if they’re not interested. At the same time, there are a few things you can do to raise their interest level, giving you a larger hiring pool.

With #nationalcarersweek days away it is important to remember just how skilled unpaid carers are, and how marketable those skills will be to enlightened employers after the responsibility for care-giving lessens. Those employers will appreciate that job applicants will have developed skills in work and beyond. Unpaid carers can refer to their communication, teamwork and problem-solving talents. Communication is key to ensuring medics and support staff focus on providing their best services to a loved one who can’t successfully take care of themselves. Teamwork is important, as it builds the right mix of skills to help deliver care for a loved one. Problem-solving matters when things go wrong and need to be fixed so there is minimal disruption to the care being delivered. Those skills should not be discounted because of where they have been demonstrated. It will always be important to deliver results of the right quality at the right time for someone needing care. Latest News - Read all about it! 📰 On April 11th, 2024, Roads Minister Guy Opperman announced proposals designed to attract more young people to careers as bus, coach, and lorry drivers. One key proposal is the lowering of minimum age requirements for bus and coach drivers. Currently, while fully trained drivers aged 18-20 can operate an articulated lorry with no distance limit, those in the same age group driving buses and coaches are restricted to routes of up to 50km.
