tkDP Winter Offsite 2024 End of February, our team gathered for our annual Winter Offsite at Schloss Landsberg in Essen. This one-day getaway provided us with a valuable opportunity to collaborate, innovate, and receive impulses in a unique setting away from our usual work environment. Our agenda was filled with diverse and engaging activities: 🤖 We delved into the world of AI, learning about metaprompting and exploring practical applications of AI in our roles as project managers through an engaging presentation. 🤝 During a "Fact Checking" Workshop, we worked on our team dynamics with interactive exercises and pitches. Especially the icebreaker activity, playing "Chinese Whispers", was fun for everyone! 💡 Great insights and work results were presented during our "Project Marketplace", where various team members shared their experiences of recent projects. 🎙️ Additionally, we were pleased to welcome a familiar face back to the round: our former colleague Simon Chaudhuri delivered an inspiring keynote speech about digitalization at TKE. In between the workshops and impulse sessions, there's always some time to chat and laugh over coffee and snacks which is great for keeping up our collaborative team spirit. Even our colleagues on parental leave joined us for parts of the day to catch up with the team! Our offsite always a great opportunity for teambuilding and bonding amongst the colleagues. We thank all of the team for organizing and contributing with their presentations and insights. T-Shaping event Last Thursday, my colleagues and I had the chance to participate in a set of fun workshops on T-Shaping. Thank you to our organizers for this great event which also helped to strengthen our team spirit. What is T-Shaping? The concept of "T-Shaping" is used in the field of talent management and professional development, including in the field of IT. It refers to a skills model where an individual has both specialized expertise in a specific field (represented by the horizontal bar of the "T") and general knowledge or interdisciplinary skills in various related fields (represented by the stem vertical of the "T"). In IT, this means that a professional has in-depth expertise in a particular area, such as software development, database administration, data analysis, etc. (represented by the horizontal bar of the "T"), but is also able to understand and collaborate effectively with experts in other fields, such as design, marketing, project management, etc. (represented by the vertical stem of the "T"). Having a “T” skill set is valuable because it allows a person to be both a competent specialist in their field and an effective contributor to multidisciplinary projects. This promotes collaboration, problem solving and innovation in a professional environment.

Ah after a day of resting and one of focusing on my todo list, I am arriving at the point, where I start to really reflect about the German agile coach camp that just took place #ACCDE24 As part of the organisor team, I like when all the plans mount out in the camp. That the complicated room puzzle lead to a full coach camp this time - also because the people on the waiting list were ready to jump in as soon as someone cancelled :) When we are there most of our job is holding the space, setting the stage, and coming with some practical information. There might be situations that need handling as well, but we had practically nothing this time :) And as venue people say: "you know us and we know you; and if something is wrong, we talk and we fix it" - one of the many reasons I love that venue :) One thing that is important to me is that we have a safe environment, where we can explore and try things out; and we can chill while taking in input. It might not all be comfortable, but I want it to be safe for people, so I emphasize the importance of taking care of yourself and taking care of others. And it seems we managed to create just this. At least that is the feedback we got so far; that people felt it was safe, calm, and welcoming also for people who joined for the first time. People were good at taking breaks and talking about it, so it became easier for others to take breaks as well. It can be quite overwhelming and intense to be with 89 other people for four days - it is great and it is also intense 💕 I had some deep conversations with several people. Some I have known for years, some I met for the same time. For me this is the best part of being at a coach camp - and being with people in the same space :) Now there is some afterwork: send goodbye letter out to the participants, update the webpage, maybe make contact to new and existing friends... And of course: after the coach camp is before the coach camp ;) The dates for #ACCDE25 are 26th-29th of June and in lovely Rückersbach as every year since the start in 2010.
