Thrilled to Announce the Successful Completion of the OOTB SharePoint Workshop I'm excited to share that I recently completed a comprehensive workshop on Out-of-the-Box (OOTB) SharePoint, gaining valuable insights into the latest features and capabilities of this powerful platform. This immersive training experience equipped me with the skills and knowledge to effectively utilize SharePoint's robust functionalities, enabling seamless collaboration, streamlined document management, and enhanced organizational productivity. Throughout the workshop, I delved into the intricacies of SharePoint's core components, including: Site Creation and Management: I learned how to create, manage, and customize SharePoint sites to suit specific business needs and preferences. Document Management and Storage: I gained proficiency in leveraging SharePoint's robust document management capabilities, ensuring secure and efficient storage, organization, and retrieval of files. User Management and Collaboration: I explored SharePoint's user management features, enabling effective access control, user provisioning, and seamless collaboration tools. Search and Content Management: I delved into SharePoint's advanced search functionalities, empowering me to locate and manage content effortlessly. Comms often argue about this with IT Here’s how it goes. The Communications team say: We’ve spoken to intranet vendors and we've found a great solution that ticks all the boxes:  ✅ modern and on-brand  ✅ easy to use  ✅ built for comms  ✅ requires limited input from IT IT responds: We’re a Microsoft house. You MUST use SharePoint. Besides, we have to:  • ensure tight security  • reduce software costs  • reduce IT support overhead Both IT and Comms have valid points. Overall, I think IT is right. But they need to invest more time explaining the benefits of SharePoint to Comms. Here are just a few key points:  • SharePoint has had a major update in the last few years. It is now MUCH better.  • Done right, SharePoint can look really good (examples in the comments)  • Build an intranet that’s within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem and integrates deeply rather than a 3rd party intranet which sits outside it. In the age of AI integration will become ever more important. IT should also consider:  • a SharePoint native third-party intranet solution to enhance SharePoint UX and branding (e.g. Lightspeed365)  • Bringing in some experts to set up the intranet properly and quickly Do you agree?
