Imagine this: years of early morning and late-night practices, the rhythmic splash of water, and the intense focus required for backstroke. 𝗔𝘀 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝘄𝗶𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗸𝗲, 𝗺𝘆 𝗯𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗺𝘆𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳. 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝘀𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗜 𝗸𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗺𝘆 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲, 𝗜’𝗱 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝗮𝘆, “𝗜 𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗻’𝘁.” My focus was solely on giving my best effort and striving to reach the turn first. Each stroke and each breath in the pool was a testament to pushing beyond my own limits. 𝘼𝙘𝙩𝙪𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮, 𝙄 𝙙𝙞𝙙𝙣’𝙩 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙜𝙪𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙄 𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙤𝙙—𝙙𝙤 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬 𝙬𝙝𝙮? 𝘽𝙚𝙘𝙖𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙄 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙢𝙮 𝙩𝙚𝙖𝙢 𝙢𝙚𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧𝙨. This is similar to how I now feel in the BD team I’m a part of. The cheers from my team on the sidelines underscored the importance of having a supportive team and positive work environment. True teamwork is about lifting each other up, working together, and celebrating our collective successes. So, how can we bring this spirit into our work environments? 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁, 𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗼 𝗳𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿? #ParisOlympics #Olympicgames #Teamwork

Sheryl Sandberg famously said that the most important career choice you will make is who you marry. On this Father’s Day I want to celebrate all those Dads who are working to make their partners happy and successful in all that they do by taking part. Especially mine. First and foremost we are parents. And then professionals. It’s a team effort. The best team work there can possibly be. It is: -Making sure everyone shows up clean, fed and on time. -And that everyone leaves on time, with the right company, maybe not clean or fed🙄. -Making sure there is food. -Making sure there are (some) clean clothes🙏 -Being there when there is a tough moment. -Allowing the other freedom (especially overnight or when there is a great gig at the O2 (with Robert Evans for example) -Never, ever saying you have put on weight. -Always celebrating your successes. -Making the best fajitas -Managing admin for 3 schools and all the homework apps 😟 -Teaching the children to ski and ride a bike -Agreeing to home 2 rescue cats -Wowing the whole family with your unknown skills (like ice skating - who knew after all these years you can twirl on ice!!) 𝗩𝟳 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗢𝗻 𝗔𝘃𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮𝘇 In Q4 of 2023, we set the V7 Team a goal... ...4 months to hit the biggest targets in our V7 careers to date - 𝘸𝘦 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘥𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘣𝘺 𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘷𝘦𝘴! For them to hit their goals we needed 3 things: 🔥 𝗗𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 Take every day as a new opportunity to achieve more for their clients and candidates. 🔥 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 Keep the internal fire lit - 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘳𝘰𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨! Results are best achieved when you're invested. 🔥 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 To not let one ‘bad’ moment hinder the success of the day, keep going and aim big(𝘨𝘦𝘳). The results? 𝗪𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗱. Month after month we achieved better results, not only for V7 but for the clients and candidates we proudly work with! So, to reward the team's exceptional hard work and celebrate our successes, we jetted off for a long weekend to hit the slopes in France last week. Although some of the team were better than others at skiing (𝘸𝘦'𝘳𝘦 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘯𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘯𝘢𝘮𝘦𝘴... 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘳𝘦 👀) it was a great few days away to get us fired up for an even bigger 2024.
