👶👧🧒 The Children's Advocacy Center provides vital support and resources to children and families who have experienced trauma or abuse. We believe that every child deserves love, care, and a chance to heal. And that's where YOU come in! 🙌 🎁📚 We are seeking donations of new items that will bring joy and comfort to these young individuals. Here are some suggested items you can donate: 1️⃣ Toys and Games: Help brighten their days with age-appropriate toys, stuffed animals, puzzles, board games, and art supplies. 2️⃣ Books: Foster their love for reading by donating new or gently used books for all age groups. Inspire their imaginations and provide an escape into the world of storytelling. 3️⃣ Clothing and Accessories: Children and teens often need new clothes due to growth or changes in their circumstances. You can contribute by donating new clothing, shoes, and accessories. 4️⃣ School Supplies: Help them succeed academically by providing new school supplies, backpacks, notebooks, pens, pencils, and other essentials. 5️⃣ Personal Care Items: Support their well-being by donating new toiletries, hygiene products, and personal care items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, and soap. 💙💚 Your generous donations will make a significant difference in the lives of these children and families , showing them that they are valued and cared for by their community. Let's come together and make a positive impact! 💙💚

Last week, my family spent a couple of days up north helping my husband, Don Riedthaler and the Ignite Northwest team, in their company’s test kitchen make and package meals for hungry kids. Between Don and I having worked decades in the restaurant industry, owning a restaurant of our own and having Don (aka Dad) as the primary cook at home, we have an abundance of food surrounding us, especially around the holidays. It felt so good (thanks to the powerful happiness hormone, oxytocin) to spent time in service to others. In the process, I noticed 3 benefits that parallel the neuroscience research in this article written by Brian de Lottinville  https://lnkd.in/ggG4wUY3   1.    Synergy 2.    Cooperation 3.    Connectedness   More benefits observed:   1.    Empathy 2.    Laughter and play 3.    Conversation 4.    Future strategic planning and decision making   It’s no wonder companies invest in team building where bonds can be formed. Though, upon reflection, the experience of helping others (for me) trumped some of the more prescriptive team building activities I’ve witnessed or participated in (karaoke bars, and escape rooms come to mind). For most of us, bathroom supplies are a negligible expense. But when you care for 70+ kids, they quickly become a problem! Imagine spending upwards of $2.5k a month on bathroom supplies. If you can, please help our partnered children’s homes stock their bathrooms. This is a huge burden we want to unload from them. You wouldn't believe how expensive it is to stock a bathroom! 😨 That's why we're running a fundraiser to help buy bathroom supplies for our Partnered Children's Homes! It costs about $25-$35 per month to provide each child with things like: 👉 Feminine hygiene products 👉 Toothpaste 👉 Combs and hair products 👉 Toilet paper 👉 Deodorant 👉 Shampoo and soap And right now, our Partnered Children's Homes care for a combined 7️⃣ 0️⃣ kids! If you do that math, it comes out to $2,450 a month in bathroom supplies. This is a significant burden we want to unload from our Partnered Children's Home. So, let's raise $2450 or more!
