Recent Modern Healthcare and Staffing Industry Analysts articles highlighted Steward Health Care's Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing, Noting insufficient #reimbursement by #governmentpayors and “skyrocketing” #laborcosts are among the factors driving the #Chapter11 filing. Steward operates hospitals in Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Texas which CNN has reported, all 31 of its US hospitals are up for sale in hopes to finalize the transaction (s) by the end of summer. AAPM&R urges its members to contact Medicare about payment cuts scheduled for 2024 ahead of the September 11 comment deadline. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services released their 2024 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule Proposed Rule on July 13. The rule includes a 3.4% cut to the conversion factor, which is used to calculate payment for physician services.
