🎤 Taylor Swift and the new triggers in the #Explore arena: A few days ago, Rolling Stone magazine reported that 25% of the tickets to see Taylor Swift in France were purchased by American citizens. The singer has become indeed one of the reasons why thousands of people will travel across Europe this summer: Spaniards heading to Lisbon or Warsaw, Britons going to Germany, and more. Focusing on the French capital, the luxury American travel agency EMBARK Beyond asserts that Swift's concerts have attracted five times more Americans to Paris than the Olympic Games celebration. That’s something to reflect on. Like many other things, tourism is currently undergoing a revolutionary period driven by technology and the need to make it sustainable. However, the traveler is also changing—motivations, desires, and reasons for embarking on a journey. 🌍 American Swifties spending ‘midnights’ in Europe? Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour has been taking the world by storm. After dates in the US, South America and Asia, the tour has made its way to Europe this summer. Given how hard it was to get tickets when they went on sale, many Swifties are looking in the secondary ticket market to make sure they are able to see Taylor ‘shake it off.’ These fans have found that secondary tickets in Europe are significantly cheaper than secondary tickets in the US. Some sources have reported costs around five times lower, and some have reported prices up to 80% cheaper in Europe than in the US. Even taking some of the more conservative estimates of the cost difference means that tickets for shows in the US can be more than the combined cost of a round-trip flight from the US to Europe and a ticket to the show—as shown in the figure below. A 2019 IAAPA study shows North American families visit Family Entertainment Centers (FEC) 3.2 - 4.6 times per year on average. The study also indicates that guests spend between $12 - 22 per visit. As CEO of Boomers Parks, my goal is to create an environment that makes guests want to come back for more. How is this done? Adding exciting attractions, creating new and unique menu items, employing friendly, welcoming staff and more. The more guests visit, the higher the guest spends.
