On January 19, 2021, BOMA/Chicago buildings went dark for 10 minutes before lighting up orange. This request was meant to simulate the lighting of a candle and was a memorial to the lives we lost due to COVID-19. BOMA/Chicago supported this request as part of the Illuminate Chicago program. Thank you to all of our buildings who participated. You can view the photo album here: https://lnkd.in/gS2D-dV Pictured below is 150 North Michigan (CBRE).

Mostly, people don’t change jobs solely for money. They almost never resign on a whim or in a fit of anger. They joined your company because they believed it was right for them and wanted it to be right. Something, at some point, makes it wrong. And if you really take the time to dig into their real reasons for leaving — and you should — you will find that it’s not “the company” they blame. It’s not the location, or the team, or the database or the air-conditioning. It’s the leadership! So, next time you get a resignation, resist the temptation to laugh it off as “another dumbo who doesn’t get us.” It’s not the departing employee who doesn’t “get it.” It’s not the company they are leaving; it’s the leadership. Best of luck to 150 North Michigan Avenue, Chicago’s #TOBY International finalist for the 500,000 to 1 Million Square Feet category. 150 North Michigan is a 41-story, Class A office tower located in the heart of Chicago’s East Loop Business District. The 654,000 square foot tower overlooking Millennium Park and Lake Michigan is one of the most enduring landmarks along the Chicago skyline. This diamond face, which is actually two offset triangles, has showcased messages that have been regularly broadcast on mainstream TV, including messages like “Go Bears” and those supporting various charities that are a part of BOMA/Chicago’s Illuminate Chicago Lighting Program. Its diamond perimeter is also lit at night, at times with color, providing the distinctive look that makes it unique within Chicago’s nighttime skyline. 150 N. Michigan has been featured in several popular movies over the years including Adventures in Babysitting in 1987 and Transformers: Dark of the Moon in 2011. The building is managed by CBRE. International winners will be announced on October 9 at the TOBY Awards Banquet as part of the BOMA International 2021 Conference & Expo in Boston.
