October is National Women in Sales Month. Did you know: *When picturing what a salesperson looks like, in a study done with 5,000 people (presented in Daniel Pink's Masterclass) all said the stereotypical used car salesman. No one said a women. *According to Gartner, "sales has the second-biggest gender gap of all corporate functions." Only 32% of b2b salespeople are women, and less than that-19% of women hold leadership roles in sales. https://buff.ly/3ZVipSa *Surprisingly in this role women still make less than men. https://buff.ly/3M3re6D When researching "what makes a good salesperson" the top skills come up....active listening, emotional connection, negotiation, etc. Because of this it is not surprising that: https://buff.ly/3rQTToE *Women achieve 8% higher quota attainment than men. *On average, 78% of men achieve quota and 86% of women achieve quota. Sales, specifically, has a long history of being a male-dominated profession due to underlying gender bias. As a result, organizations often fail to support, protect, and nurture women in sales.
