Global terrorism is escalating with new tactics and increased activities, requiring innovative security measures. Terrorist groups are exploiting digital platforms for recruitment, presenting challenges for global security. Collaborative efforts and advanced strategies, like AI and biometrics, are crucial to counter these threats. #AML #CTF #AI

High geopolitical pressures, terrorism, cyber attacks and the list goes on; with any large scale event like the Olympics games, law enforcement and other agencies have lots to contend with in keeping the participants, attendees and the citizens safe. I often discuss the interception of physical and cyber security and this example clearly shows why it’s important for companies and organizations to remove barriers and silos and work in a collaborative effort.

ASPECTS OF INTELLIGENCE Intelligence refers to acquisition and application of knowledge, information and insights to make informed decisions. These are aspects of intelligence; 1. Gathering Intelligence Collecting information through various means, such as human intelligence (HUMINT), signals intelligence (SIGINT), imagery intelligence (IMINT), and open-source intelligence (OSINT). 2. Analysis Examining collected data to derive meaningful insights, assess threats, and provide context for decision-makers. 3. Counterintelligence Protecting against espionage and unauthorized access by identifying and neutralizing foreign intelligence activities. 4. National Security Supporting the formulation and execution of policies to ensure the security and well-being of a nation. 5. Cooperation Collaborating with domestic and international partners to share intelligence, enhance collective security, and address common threats. 6. Cyber Intelligence Monitoring and analyzing cyber threats to protect against cyberattacks and ensure the security of digital infrastructure. 7. Counterterrorism Identifying and countering terrorist activities through intelligence gathering and analysis. 8. Policy Support Providing information that aids in the development and implementation of government policies. Notable intelligence agencies include the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in the United States, the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) in the United Kingdom, the Federal Security Service (FSB) in Russia, and many others globally. The activities of intelligence services often operate under a framework of legal and ethical guidelines to balance security needs with individual rights and privacy concerns.

HUGE BAHRAIN TELECOM CYBER ATTACK ❗️We have conducted a big cyber attack on the infrastructure of internet in Bahrain 🔥🔥 🎯 Zain Bahrain Zain started operations in the Kingdom of Bahrain on 14 August 2003 as MTC-Vodafone. Since then, it has introduced 4.5G LTE services to the country. Zain's network covers 100% of the Bahrain's Bahraini population. ⚠️ This attack has been carried out completely by the InfraShutdown DDoS infrastructure. ⚠️ 1- The reason for the attack: Bahrain's clear and continuous support for Israel. Also to raise awareness to the dire situation in Sudan ⚠️ 2- Also for the traitorous act of being a part of the western naval coalition against Yemen ⚠️ We therefore claim any damage to the overall health of Zain Bahrain and any collateral damage.

The U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctioned six officials in the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Cyber-Electronic Command (IRGC-CEC), an Iranian government organization responsible for a series of malicious #cyber activities against #criticalinfrastructure in the U.S. and other countries. The U.S. is taking action against these individuals in response to IRGC-affiliated cyber actors’ recent #cyber operations in which they hacked and posted images on the screens of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) manufactured by Unitronics, an Israeli company. #Industrialcontrol devices, such as #PLCs, used in #water and other critical infrastructure systems, are sensitive targets.  Although this particular operation did not disrupt any critical services, unauthorized access to critical infrastructure systems can enable actions that harm the public and cause devastating humanitarian consequences. “The deliberate targeting of critical infrastructure by Iranian cyber actors is an unconscionable and dangerous act,” Brian E. FBI Director Wray Discusses National Security Threats at International Spy Museum Event. Key to the FBI’s ability to continue to keep Americans safe from these threats, including terrorism, espionage, and cyber attacks, Director Wray said, is renewal of Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA). “702 authority is vital, absolutely vital—not important, not nice-to-have—vital,” Director Wray said, explaining that Section 702 is authority that allows the Intelligence Community to conduct targeted surveillance of non-U.S. persons located abroad in national security investigations. One fundamental aspect to discuss is the proliferation of surveillance tactics employed by governments and private entities in the name of combating cybercrime. Governments often justify the use of surveillance technologies, such as mass surveillance programs, data retention laws, and warrantless surveillance, as necessary measures to detect and prevent cyber threats, including cyberterrorism, espionage, and online radicalization. For example, the revelations of Edward Snowden exposed the extensive surveillance apparatus operated by intelligence agencies, such as the National Security Agency (NSA), which conducted mass surveillance programs targeting internet communications, metadata collection, and electronic surveillance, under the guise of national security imperatives. #surveillance
