Preventing eviction on 6/18 for three little kids. TDF same day payment success story with America’s Warrior Partnership. The veteran lives in Phoenix, and she served 2008-2014. She was combat-deployed and has a rating. She works full-time but fell behind due to an automobile repair and being hospitalized for a brief period. She has 3 children: 12 and 10 girls and 8 yo boy. She needed $4,094.32 in rental assistance. She went to eviction court on 6/12/24 and was told that the constable is due to evict her on 6/18/24 unless she comes up with the amount. She has contacted the following organizations for help and was denied: AMVETS, AER, Operation Homefront, Salute America’s Heroes, Operation Family Fund, Wildfire AZ, Mana House Catholic Charities, and US Vets SSVF in Phoenix (ineligible until later this year). A few weeks into the war, Myisrael (through one of our causes - the Family Nest) was able to fund laptops to families stuck in their shelters for hours and days on end in Ashkelon. So many of the single mother families supported by the Nest were not only undergoing trauma and severe anxiety from the events of October 7th and the non stop rocket fire but were also unable to connect with their friends and families and were isolated from contact and support. With funding from the Myisrael Emergency War Appeal we were able to supply 25 laptops to families who desperately needed the distraction and to fell less alone. The Global Slavery Index reveals the number of people living in modern slavery has grown since 2018 against a backdrop of increasing and more complex conflicts, widespread environmental degradation, climate-induced migration, a global rollback of women’s rights, and the economic and social impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Since 2018 the number of people living in modern slavery has increased to 50 million, thats 10x the polpulation of New Zealand. Yet we still dont have a Modern Slavery act. @Worldvision. Instead charities like Blue Dragon are rescueing children and adults every week from slavery. Please help get more people home.
Since the beginning of April, Blue Dragon has set a person free from slavery nearly every day. A total of 28 men, women and children are now safe at home thanks to this rescue work. The situation remains dire for many. Blue Dragon is in contact with more than 100 desperate people in urgent need of rescue. But we remain hopeful. We can reach these people, and you can help.
