Now that the T20 Cricket World Cup(mens) has reached its Conclusive end it is imperative for us to understand the factors at play. Toss is going to be important but the pitches in West Indies especially Antigua have been much better than the curated pitches at USA. Afgahnistan is indeed the dark horse and South Africa will have to play a caluculated game like achess master if they are to overtake the Giant Killers. India again have played well so far but they need to undersatnd that each game is different,composition,strtegy has to cahnge as per local conditions.We have often seen India falter at the final step,it is important for Rohit to be clinical like with the Aussies. The innings of Rohit sharma proved to be the difference.Virat Kohli has not fired nor has Jadeja.Management needs to take calculated call understanding the pros&cons. Current situation of Pakistan Cricket Team is demotivating and disheartening. Tough to see our team struggle. Any sports team's on-field success is built on the hard work and dedication they put in off the field. This is where the Indian Cricket Team shines brighter than ours. Indian Team excels in preparation and strategy. Our team needs improvement in these areas. Our players have the potential, and on their day, they can beat the best. Cricket is unpredictable; miracles happen. Today’s India vs. Pakistan match is crucial. This game is about spirit, resilience and passion. Every setback is a setup for a comeback. Their hard work off the field can lead to victory on it.

We did not win only the India-Pakistan match yesterday, we have actually won the World Cup. India is strategically dominant when it comes to cricket. Both players and viewership are best in India. The question today is not whether we will keep winning cricket tournaments, the question is whether we can make cricket survive. England has football and Australia has Rugby, India has just cricket. One ticket of India-Pakistan match, which was held yesterday on 14th October, 2023 sold for as high as Rs. 57,00,000. Just for your reference, the actual ticket cost is just Rs. 2000. Reports say that while the capacity of Narendra Modi Stadium is 1,32,000 people; only 8300 tickets were open for sale. At the same time, viagogo, an alleged illegal reseller, was selling tickets in lakhs. We need to fix this for two reasons - 1. There is only one country in the world with most cricket viewership concentration - India. 2. 92% of sport viewers in India view cricket. Yesterday's U19 cricket world cup semifinal between South Africa and India saw a perfect example of what difference mental ability can bring to the game. 1. India who had one all the league stage matches batting first had the self belief to put the Proteas in to bat first after winning toss. 2. South Africa hadva above par score when they piled up a 244. 3. India reeling at 34 for 4. 4. Captain Uday Saharan stitches a 171 run partnership with Sachin Dhas. Both batters playing their natural game. Sachin played a brisk knock of 96 and Uday a controlled knock of 81. 5. Holding on the fancies of playing a glory shot is thecname of the game. Application and ability put together bring about innings of this class. 6. South Africans missed the trick or two when they went a little complacent after making a massive dent in Indian batting order. 7. A mentally strong team never ever gives their opponents any chance to bounce back. They play ruthless, they do not relax before the mission is fulfilled. Play to your strengths - A tale of two recent matches The cricket frenzy nations of #India and #Pakistan were watching the T20 world cup happening in USA and Caribbean. These two are seen as arch rivals, although the recent history shows that the results are dominated by one team, team India in blue. The media wants to milk the clash, and cash in on the hype and viewership of more than a billion people. This was pretty much similar to what happened in the recent Indian election one could argue. For me both these matches have many commonalities and some interesting corporate lessons : 1- Do not always go by the hype created by media as many a times the results can be anti-climax. 2 - A team that crosses the line is the winner in the end and that is what matters, there is no second prize in #politics, #competitivesports or #corporatesales. 3 - Play to your #strengths rather than hoping to take advantage of your opposition's weakness. 4 - In a #teamsport the performance of every player matters. One person alone can seldom help you win all the time. Every player needs to chip in when it matters. 5 - #Predictions are easy to make, but can often go wrong. Even those with a great track record can predict wrong outcomes. 6 - Even if things seem to be in your control do not become #overconfident. Assume things can go wrong somewhere in the journey. Try and win early enough and do not wait till the very end. 7 - #Winningisahabit and in crunch situations this helps you cross the line. As a strong supporter of Indian cricket team and Indian PM I see some similarities. But happy that the team who deserved won on the day.

I am not here to post gyan on management lessons from Rahul Dravid and leadership lessons from Rohit Sharma 😊 #t20WC2024. 🏏 Just wanted to share that our own cricket team - The #BriBooks Cricket Club - played and lost a very close game against SplashLearn on the same day India won the World Cup. The match had a very similar scorecard and results, except that we were playing without some of our key players. Yet, the emotions were not of dejection but of happiness. Cricket for most of us is not merely a sport but an emotion. Personally, I am lucky to be able to play the sport at the age of 38. It is an amazing way to spend the weekend with friends and colleagues (including former ones). It's one where we play different roles. Dynamics are different and so are the leaders. Instead of being the leader, I play under the captaincy and leadership of folks like Yash , Yogesh and Paurush. A game of cricket is an amazing test of leadership and team spirit. The fact that we were able to take the game close to the wire with a heavily depleted team helped us bond better and stronger. World cup cricket 1983 vs 2023 Captain - Kapil dev vs Rohit sharma In 1983, India was not in a bright spot of cricket before winning the cup. Everyone thought India would lose to the West Indies. Because, in 1975 & 1979 west indies won consecutively and were considered to be the best team in the International grounds. So, If india qualifies for the semi finals itself would be a big victory for India. Even predictors would not even dream of India would have won. All the odds were against India , no one trusted or believed India will win in that match except the captain Kapil dev. He was clear in his vision, India will win even with the easy target set for WI. That level of courage and unwavering boldness required win not only the match but also in every challenge. In 2023, Under Rohit sharma captaincy with the best team and even played in the Home country. we lost to australia in the finals. Even in the match players lost the confidence of winning before the start of the match when it was confronting australia. In that series India won all the matches except finals. Why can't they be able to make it? Answer to the win or lose, you must believe in yourself irrespective of what others think. You must not lose hope and fight till the end. As a CA student lot will lose hope in the first day of the exam if they thought they didn't perform well. some may not even attend the next exams. One thing to be kept in mind is the game is not over, fight till the end and give your best.
