2023 WORLD TEACHERS DAY THEME IS SO IMPRESSIVE: "The Teachers we want for the Education we need" The phrase "teachers we want for the education we need" suggests a desire for educators who align with the specific educational goals and values of a community or society. It implies that the qualities, skills, and teaching methods of teachers should be tailored to meet the unique needs and aspirations of students and the broader educational system. In essence, it emphasizes the importance of selecting and supporting teachers who can provide the type of education that is most beneficial and relevant for learners and society as a whole.

The secondary education system in the United States is unlike any other. Not only the duration of training differs, but also pedagogical methods, curricula and much more. There is no single state standard of education in the United States. The formation of the curriculum in the most general form (the list of basic disciplines, the dates of the beginning and end of the academic year) is carried out by the Council of Education under the state administration. At the same time, school employees determine all the specifics, such as teaching aids, the volume and nature of the material taught, on their own. Tell me, what disciplines are in priority in such schools? What is the variety of programs and teaching methods in American schools? http://journals.today

I had the privilege of sharing the importance of breadth as embodied in the College of the Ozarks general education curriculum which prepares students to tackle a wide range of tasks at work and in life. Breadth is important for engineering graduates, half of whom are not in explicit engineering roles, as well as any graduate who wants to be prepared for the wonderfully diverse world we live in. https://lnkd.in/gWBcYERe
I am passionate about equipping and resourcing Christian colleges and universities and their faculty to faithfully educate students.
It was a pleasure to moderate a discussion at the Faithful Education Convocation last night about how the General Education Program here at College of the Ozarks helps prepare students to thrive in their God-given #vocations and #callings. Thanks to Stacy McNeill, Ed.D., Mark Nowack, and Joseph Western for sharing your insights as part of our faculty panel. Thanks also to Janna Goodwin for all your help organizing things behind the scenes. Finally, thanks to all the faculty here at the College who invest your time, energy, and passion into teaching General Education courses!
