"Do my assignment" refers to the request for someone else to complete academic tasks on behalf of another. It's a controversial practice raising concerns about academic integrity and ethical standards. https://lnkd.in/g4PUCNDr #educational #Assignmenthelp #onlineservices

Language matters! A couple of concerns related to this job posting for an Educational Assistant in Maryland. 1) The only circumstances under which a child could be restrained, according to Maryland law (this is a Maryland school), is in a crisis that involves imminent threat of serious physical harm. This is legally defined and is essentially a potentially life-threatening situation. No one should restrain a student to manage their behavior. 2) Words matter! Functional labels are problematic on many fronts. Functional labels can be stigmatizing and can lead to stereotypes related to intellectual ability. Functional labels often lead to inappropriate expectations and school placements. While we are at it, let's not use the term non-verbal, it is problematic for similar reasons. https://aasr.news/ynq #endseclusion

Biology Educator | Educational Psychologist | Bed-wetting Survivor and Counselor | Bladder/Urinary System Educator | Mental Health | Peace Advocate | Author | Public Speaker | The Prestigious Teacher
There is no height that people in other professions can reach that teachers cannot reach. Prestige is not meant for only doctors, lawyers, engineers, or news broadcaster. Prestige is also achievable for those in the teaching profession (teachers). With competence, confidence and intentionality, teachers can build reputation for themselves and increase their financial prowess. Contrary to the common narrative, the teaching profession is not marked with paltriness, poverty or lack of confidence. But you must consciously and diligently position yourself for the honor and all the pre-eminent and transcendent opportunities/rewards that you desire to have in the teaching profession. Being a teacher does not mean you should be poor, naive or inferior and deplorable in the society.

The Evolution of the Teaching Profession. Once upon a time, teachers were not only the most intelligent, they were the most respected and best dressed. In the colonial era, they were viewed with awe that they could not only understand the white man's language, but interacted well with them. Then along came Teachers Training Colleges. Parents hustled to get their children into those schools for the respect that would be accorded them. These teachers came out, speaking fluent English and dressing to impress. That was before everyone wanting to be first a Doctor, then a lawyer, Engineering followed, then the Accountants, other career pathways followed suit, and teaching was relegated. Gradually, it became that no parent wanted their child to be a teacher. Colleges of Education became home to those that were not able to make their Jamb, and you could be a teacher if you finished secondary school and can't further. Or, you were done with the university and you had no job, then, "just look for any school." Teachers became the least paid career, so much so that if you wanted to be rich or even comfortable, then don't pick up a career in teaching. Hmmmm. Teachers became a laughing stock of other career holders. Where there are Doctors or Lawyers, a teacher dares not speak. If you have a Master or PHD, people look at you "in education?" Like, probably you got hit by a train. Funnily enough, even lectures don't see us as their equals. It is even worse if you are a primary school teacher. As a Nursery Teacher, you are viewed as a "nanny" afterall, all you do is to play. I was one of the Happy ones during COVID when I ask parents "how far? You enjoying your time with your children?" The stereotype that has been hung around teachers is stifling; so, I am intentional about getting teachers their pride back. I come from a family of teachers, from my paternal and maternal sides and I am a proud teacher. I am as much a professional as you are, so, YOU should act like it. #themumsteacher #mumcher #education #iamaproudteacher #professionalteacher #themumsteacherwithLinkedInTeachers

Book review Students with different backgrounds of socioeconomic and intersectuonality required more comprehensive policy approach of addressing their upbringing and family context rather than mere time at school presence; implications of importance of language competency; not just early but also late education support; accessibility of education (e.g. location and tuition); institutional support and funding leading to education as business. Everyone merely has intrinsic uniqueness and one has a right to achieve great things they want at school; education as nurturing for the future; human being with complex background not just as universal human being with all same features.

There are currently 870 teacher vacancies in the state of Mississippi, and it’s likely that not all openings have been reported to the Mississippi Department of Education (MDE). This highlights the importance of innovative strategies to attract and retain high-quality educators. As alarming as the vacancy numbers can be, it’s an opportunity for us to come together to support and listen to our teachers. Districts seeking feedback from educators who are not returning should consider asking: ✅In what areas did we excel? ✅Where did we fall short? ✅What steps can we take to improve? ✅How could we have better supported you as a partner in education? The most effective strategy to boost teacher retention is to gather and analyze data from the voices in the field. #schoolworq #schoolleadership #teacherjobs

Many students come to college with a specific career or life goal in mind. They want to be lawyers, teachers, doctors, etc. Most any undergraduate curriculum will include required courses outside of the major. So, the future doctor will end up in a poetry class. Or a future kindergarten teacher will end up in a physics course. And they might wonder why. Lots of reasons! But I’ll give you three. First, breadth in undergraduate education will make them better future doctors, teachers, and lawyers. Would any profession not benefit from the power of language, creativity and the symbolism inherent in poetry? Or the scientific method, logic, and inquiry found in the natural sciences? Second, it will lead to better citizenship and appreciation of our connected world. Understanding something of history, art, religion, politics, etc. is critical for the individual and all of society. Third, life rarely happens in a straight line. Learning broad skills will likely matter. The teacher may run for city council and need to know something about political science. The doctor may end up editing a research journal and need strong writing skills. And this is actually even more important for the many students who come to college without a specific career outcome in mind. Exposure to different disciplines should eventually light a spark that leads to a great passion and vocation. I did not go to college with the goal of being a college president. Yet, the breadth exposed me to career paths I never imagined. #HigherEducation #Otterbein #CoalitionForTheCommonGood
