Happy International Women In Engineering Day! Today, let’s celebrate by acknowledging trailblazers like Damyanti Gupta, who was hired as the first female engineer with an advanced degree at Ford in 1967. From refugee to mechanical engineer, her journey is inspiring and her work improving vehicle engines helped get us to where we are today. Back then, her nickname was "Rani," which means queen, and rightly so! But her story isn't just about beating the odds — it's about grit, perseverance, and loving what you do. Thank you to all the women engineers at Ford Motor Company and Ford Pro for keeping us moving in the right direction! #INWED2024 #EnhancedByEngineering #FordPro #FordHistory
“You’re applying for an engineering job, but we have no females here.”... She told him, “I’m here, and unless you hire me, you’ll never have any.” THIS is why she’s an icon!
Love more women in front like auto OEM positions...but lets also try to do better with developing a a more gender-balanced front line facing the customer end of the auto ecosystem.
