New Energy, Sustainable Energy Sources, and Renewables are the prevailing characteristics of present and future energy sources. They serve as supplements to conventional oil, gas, and coal. Wind power, solar energy, hydropower, and geothermal energy are well-established renewable sources, while experimental alternatives like wave and tide motion energy are also being explored. Despite being a cleaner energy source, nuclear power has not been widely utilized. This could be attributed to psychological factors stemming from incidents such as Three Mile Island, Chernobyl, and Fukushima, as well as a historical association with nuclear deterrence. Moreover, existing nuclear reactors pose risks of catastrophic consequences in the event of a meltdown. However, a new generation of nuclear reactors is under development, incorporating lessons from the past to ensure significantly safer operation. Given the global emphasis on clean energy, nuclear power is poised for a resurgence by 2030. It's crucial to acknowledge and understand the key new reactor types, as each represents advancements in safety design.
