Ted W. Love, MD’s Post

Chair of the Board, Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO)

One of the things that has always stuck with me from my time working with sickle cell patients during medical school was the lack of compassion these patients were met with when seeking care. Witnessing these individuals enduring excruciating sickle cell episodes, yet having to dress up just to gain credibility, felt shockingly unjust and sparked my resolve to provide relief to this overlooked community. I’m proud of the efforts I’m supporting in partnership with Pfizer to bring new hope and improved quality of life to people living with sickle cell disease.    #SCDAdvocacy #SickleCellDisease

I would love for you to participate educating physicians, nurses, and community partners about this topic. In October for our community engagement event (it doesn’t have to be part of Pfizer but your own research) if interested please email [email protected]

So comments are so true, Ted. I saw the same. “Drug seeking behavior“ as the dominant diagnosis.

Thank you Dr Love for your development of new therapies for SCD, and for your support of ending the stigmatization against the SCD affected community. You're a blessing.
