#Leadership is often defined by a tiny gesture. One soccer player shields a child from rain, inspiring teammates to follow. Suddenly, a soggy sideline transforms into a heartwarming display of humanity. This is being a leader. This ripple effect reminds us that small acts of compassion can flood the world with hope. In leadership and life, never underestimate the power of one selfless moment. This is a legitimate question, and not me trying to be difficult, but at what point does being a basic human being actually mean just that? I'd like to think most people, no matter their status, or profile, or level, would give a kid their jacket in the rain. To me, this isn't leadership but basic humanity. It's a beautiful gesture, but wouldn't it be amazing if it wasn't such a notable thing? Or maybe I'm living in la-la land...

Compassion 101 in practice. Why are we not doing this often for those who require help? 🧐

Great example of ‘deeds not words’… #leadership

This made me teary when I saw it - I saw the wonderful humanity in it. And then I saw some of the comments which turned a beautiful gesture into something negative. Let's not overthink it

Thanks for sharing Victor Dominello. This reflects the power of awareness. The first player noticed the situation and acted out of genuine care. The others might not have been aware until the first player took action but then followed suit. Some may have acted to avoid looking bad, but the outcome was a positive chain reaction initiated by one person's awareness. A lack of action and care (or wrong action) often can stem from our lack of awareness or understanding of a situation. Sometimes it’s also a matter of ignoring it because it’s just too uncomfortable to acknowledge. I believe this principle can be applied to all aspects of life. Any thoughts?

Life’s tough, wear a helmet 🤦🏻♂️ cold water on a kid for 10 minutes doesn’t matter. Let’s everyone just grow up and stop the egocentric circle jerk of nonsense to get attention. My Mum did this daily on the walk to school in the UK. This is not important. Get back to work.

One person is enough to ignite a positive transformation.

A leader makes sacrifces, thinks of everyone else first and obviously leads by example. My question would be why didn’t the league provide rain coats or Jackets for the kids. So the players had to do this knowing they were freezing in the cold to be with their hero’s. In return their hero’s showed their appreciation. Simple post but has many meanings behind it.

Be a leader. You may never know the impact your actions have-however sometimes it’s obvious.
