Identify Issues of Driving Behavior BEFORE crashes and infractions contribute to rising insurance costs, vehicle damage, or potential loss of life.
Over the years technology has changed how we teach driver safety training, but the concept has not: Driver training is specifically designed to identify and change poor driving behaviors and promote good habits. Advanced safety technology is designed to prevent crashes. If a specific crash begins to decline, the cost of equipping the vehicle with this technology will exponentially pay for itself. Year after year more safety features are becoming standard equipment. Yet, new vehicle technology should decrease specific crashes, if a driver knows how to incorporate it into their good driving habits. If a driver uses vehicle technology to replace good driving habits, a spike in crashes is a very high possibility. i.e. backup cameras. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration regulates and monitors safety and equipment standards for domestic and imported vehicles, and ADTS covers the most up to date topics on these safety and equipment standards. 40 years ago we used over-head projectors and slide decks, and today we use the internet and tablets. Here are a few videos from the past on seatbelt safety, and I am sure many remember the crash test dummies and their claim to fame: https://lnkd.in/grbiCk9s https://lnkd.in/ga2ywMyK On day 2 of our trip, we spotlight our owner 𝑲𝒆𝒗𝒊𝒏 𝑴𝒄𝑪𝒂𝒏𝒏, and his vast experience and background, that helped form what our company is today.

Expertise in vehicle camera / telematics / DVS Offering probably the most advanced connected vehicle video telematics solution currently available
Great to see so much publicity this week regarding Road Safety Week. It has got me thinking about technology in vehicles and whether it is a good thing or not. There is no doubt that ADAS solutions and various other warning and automatic systems do avoid incidents happening, but is this at the expense of drivers becoming more reliant on the technology and being generally more complacent in the way that they drive? We talk about the use of mobile phones as a major contributory factor in collisions (along with speed) but by fitting quite frankly, massive touch screen monitors in new vehicles are we not adding to the distractions that drivers face. My company provides technology to make driving safer, but we often hear about drivers not wanting 'another' alert in the cab. Is technology taking away the necessity for drivers to 'learn to drive' and be more aware of their surroundings? Living in an area of the country that sees lots of visitors, it is not uncommon to see cars speeding along a straight only to brake really hard for an upcoming bend....... a bend that if they could read the road correctly, they would understand could be taken safely much quicker. Too distracted or need further training? I have a niece who is taking driving lessons at the moment. I was amazed when speaking with her that when carrying our a right or left turn (or lane change) a pupil is not taught to look over their shoulder. Why are they not being made aware of blindspots around the vehicle? Should we be teaching drivers better / more???????

While there are many cognitive skills required for safe driving, hazard perception is the only skill that has been consistently linked to drivers' collision risk 🧠 In fact, numerous studies have demonstrated that drivers who perform poorly on hazard perception tests are more likely to have a collision in the future 📊💥. That's why the UK government introduced the hazard perception test as part of the national driver licensing procedure in 2002, and it has since become a thriving part of the driver training industry 🇬🇧📜🚘. But did you know that hazard perception training can also benefit commercial fleets? 🚌 🚗 🚛 From identifying training needs to reducing instances of harsh braking and acceleration, hazard perception training can make your fleet safer overall 💪👨✈️🚚. Want to learn more about how hazard perception training can benefit your fleet? 🔍📖👀 Check out our latest blog post: https://d36.co/1bQNB #HazardPerception #SafeDriving #DriverTraining #CollisionRisk #DriverSafety #CommercialFleets #FleetManagement #FleetSafety #ReduceCollisions #TrainingNeeds #HarshBraking #HarshAcceleration #RoadSafety #UKGovernment #DriverLicensing #DriverSkills #CognitiveSkills #DriverPerformance #FutureCollisions #DriverEducation #DriverAwareness #FleetTraining #DrivingSkills

CREATING THE PERFECT SOLUTION: DRIVER TRAINING and TELEMATICS. Driving is a privilege that comes with great responsibility. Mondays food for thought “A vehicle is only a fixed monthly financial cost, until it starts moving!” This is where unplanned variable costs and road safety based on driver behaviour can derail the strategy, budgets and life lost. BE PROACTIVE AND NOT REACTIVE, having “Eyes on the Road” by incorporating the correct telematics products and services is vital. Dashcams, Breathalyzers, Fatigue and so much more. How do you change behaviour, if you can’t see the reality? Ideally, your fleet drivers will have an adequate level of experience and training, but advantages exist in offering supplemental training: driving on different types of terrain, first aid training, education on the dangers of distracted and impaired driving, and more. Creating driving habits by having regular training is a valuable way to keep your drivers up to date on industry news AARTO, revised company protocols, and any other applicable updates and changes. At Turnkey Fleet Solutions we understand the dynamics of INCREASED AWARENESS and PERCEPTION on the Road. #driversafety #drivertraining #roadsafety #fleetmanagement #fleetsafety #fleetsolutions
