We're an amazing species! Check out this thrilling rally from the women's singles final of the World Teqball Championships in Bangkok last week. The epic back and forth between Thai hometown hero Jutatip Kuntatong and Rafaella Fontes Gimenez of Brazil showcased incredible ball control, creativity and a never say die attitude. Gimenez prevailed to be crowned world champion but both players wowed the packed house including Brazilian football legend Ronaldinho. Teqball was invented in Hungary in 2012 and is now played in 120 countries, with a World Cup governed by the International Federation of Teqball. Many don't know this sport exists but it has built a hardcore following, centred around incredible skills and athleticism. Amazing that a sport can be invented and grow so fast in 11 years in the super competitive global sporting landscape. #Teqball

South Africa’s participation at 2024 FINA World Championships in Doha As our teams prepare for their opening games at 2024 Fina World Championships in Doha, we take a moment to wish them well, enjoy the experience, learn and return with the knowledge that we all have a lot to do to get to a level where we can truly compete at the pinnacle of the sport. This said, it is time for all waterpolo players in South Africa to take a stand against Swim South Africa (SSA). Their administration of our sport is diabolical to say the least. SSA have captured waterpolo and the funds that flow to and from it. The participants and enthusiasts have no say in the strategic direction of the sport and despite numerous “free berths” (automatic qualification) at major completions, we have neither improved our results nor developed a plan to grow the sport at and international level. Some background to team preparation for Doha. Our teams preparation amost identical to that of other teams other than: * not having a coach announced untill 10 days before leaving for Doha (7 prominent coaches refused appointment due to poor planning and unworkable timelines), * not having played one international in a year, * not a single training camp, * no ongoing fitness or monitoring (no criterion given), * no league or any games for two months, * no video analysis of the teams they will be playing, …But other than that…almost identical. Lambs to the slaughter. As a result, we request that FiNA launch an investigation into the administration of waterpolo, that they call SSA to book and demand that SSA provide a comprehensive plan to develop “competitive teams” to participate at these “once in a lifetime” events. Our hearts go out to the teams and participants denied the opportunity to compete because of South Africa’s automatic qualification. You have all been unfairly denied an opportunity to show your metal at the highest level. Your associations should take this up on your behalf.

"Punching above our weight" - Pardon the pun following Kelly Harrington's boxing Gold medal, but that should be #Ireland's official motto, because it's true. What an achievement for a small country of just 5m people to not only win 4 gold medals so far at the Olympics, but also to have the highest productivity, the highest standards of education, of food production, and the nicest people in the world. I am inspired by this country's (and my team's) human resources and resourcefulness, and this ability to do it with a smile. In many ways, the Herdwatch journey would not have been the same anywhere else, or maybe even possible, because our business motto could also be "Punching above our weight" - We have always tried to do the right thing with limited resources, for farmers and ranchers, for our amazing team, for our communities, and we have built a fast-growing international business, a beacon of Irish #Agtech supported by fantastic Irish structures such as FRS Co-Op, Local Enterprise Offices in #Tipperary, AgTech Ireland, Renatus and of course Enterprise Ireland who have stood by us for many years in our international journey. Finally, none of this would have happened without Ireland's membership of the European Union - for all its failings (and it has many), the EU has brought people closer and given me and millions of others opportunities that did not exist just 30 or 40 years ago. (For those who don't know, I came to Ireland on an EU-funded ERASMUS student programme for a year, and never went back...and wasn't thrown out!) If it wasn't clear already, I am extremely grateful to have been "adopted" by the people of Ireland and #Roscrea. I will always be a proud French man, and love both nations (I have dual nationality), but Ireland has given me so much, including my wonderful wife Antoinette and daughter Amélie, and I will continue to do my best to give back. Maith thú agus go raibh maith agat Éire 🙏👏💚🇮🇪 PS: Ireland is officially 12th on the Olympics medals table (which is amazing) but actually 3rd on the "Gold medals per capita" table!! I think that table should be used officially alongside the other one - China are pretty much last on that one and the USA are 29th! "Olympics Glory in Proportion" as the website says 👇

Top 3 takeaways for me from the Olympics 2024 are: 1. You don’t need fancy tools to be effective - Yusuf Dikec (Silver) 2. You’re never too young to win - Arisa Trew (Gold) 3. You don’t have to be rich to achieve your goals - Arshad Nadeem (Gold)

# At_Paris_Olympics, a new special system will be applied to the qualifications of 200/400/800/1500 and 100/110/400 hurdles races, where a round of concentration will be added between the first and semi-finals, as shown in the picture below النه For example 800 meters race which is important for us as Algerians ♦️ The first round There are 6 qualifying series, from which the first 3 qualify directly to the semi-finals, a total of 18 runners against 30 runners. The rest will go through a training stage tomorrow consisting of 4 series from which the winner of the qualifying round + 2 the best timing to the semi-final round, so that the total of those qualified for the semi-final will become 24 runners. ♦️ Semi final round 24 runners are divided into 3 qualifying series, from which the first runners in each qualifying + 2 the best timing to the final round, and therefore we have 8 runners in the 800 meters final

"Gold medals aren't really made of Gold! They're made of sweat, determination, and a hard to find alloy called guts" Dan Gable (Oly) There are only champions in this photo. In preparation for the Federation of International Touch World Cup in July, England Touch Senior Women's squad toured to Singapore for preparation. I'm still struggling to come to terms with what we, and in particular the Athletes achieved. tens of thousands of miles from home, in temperatures reaching in excess of 40 degrees, with less than a full international squad in number, an International series win with only 12 players fit during one of Singapore's hottest weeks, 11 full fixtures in six days. I have lost count this week of the number of times; when faced with exhaustion, fatigue, sickness, injury; almost every uncontrollable an athlete or team can confront; Lexie Williams , Hanna Gildam-Clark or I have asked this team to dig deeper, asked them to find the energy and push forward, only to see them pull together and race headlong into the pain then ask ever more of themselves and each other. Everyone; coaches, psychologists, athletes, have faced physical and mental exhaustion, but through our culture, team ethic and pure Guts we have succeeded. This has taken years and months of work on and off field to achieve That it is being achieved by people with full time jobs, in an amateur self funded sport is remarkable. As I reflect on what we achieved and how we've achieved it and how we prepare for world cup I hope to share some of those reflections.
