I'll admit, I'm a sucker for a good internet quiz. And especially when that quiz can help me address my individual carbon footprint. I took the Commons 2024 sustainability resolution quiz and found out how I can cut my emissions this year by 1%. How will I do it? By changing two flights I have this year to direct flights. I have a few others I'll add to my 2024 personal carbon emissions resolutions. 1. Washing my laundry cold and drying on a line on sunny days, tumble dry on wet days (estimated impact: 288 KG CO2e decrease) 2. Bike to the market instead of drive in the Summer (estimated impact:105 kg CO2e decrease) 3. Eating a "Blue Zones Diet"(estimated impact: up to a 73% reduction in my food-related emissions and a greater chance that I'll live to100) These are small actions. I see way more impact from the amazing businesses that I work with taking their role in the environment seriously and implementing large-scale change. For me, these small actions still matter. They mean I get to live in line with my values. And though small, I get to feel just a little bit better and take my existential dread into my own hands. What are your climate resolutions this year?

Alrighty, time to share the big news. Yesterday, I started my new role as a Sustainability Analyst at Dutch Bros Coffee! I had an unbelievable day, meeting with some truly inspiring people. Every person I met had a new idea for how to bring DB sustainability to the next level. I'm so excited to get to work! (I have a feeling all the caffeine is going to help)

Today is my last day as a #sustainableinvesting Fellow at 17 Asset Management. It's been an amazing 4 months working with some truly amazing people. Thank you to the indomitable Austin A Ritzel for guiding me through and sharing so many book recommendations. It's great seeing companies at the forefront of integrating the UN #sdgs in their business models and investment strategies.

Makerspaces are truly one of the best methods for creating a culture of learning, resilience, and play in a community. We need more like it and I love the work being done by the Forge Greensboro!
