GlobalFoundries Commences Volume Production of SST’s 28nm Embedded Flash Data Storage Devices Intended for use in edge-based deployments, such as home automation and industrial IoT (IIoT), the ESF3 3rd generation embedded SuperFlash devices from SST are now being mass fabricated by GlobalFoundries (GF), using its 28nm 28SLPe semiconductor process. These non-volatile memory (NVM) devices are capable of attaining sub-25ns read access times, 10µs program times and 4ms erase times.
